  1. Seeing again that at post #84 in that thread I shut up but the show goes on for 250 more posts after I'm gone, made my day. But I'll read it all again, can't resist. 2. Sweet, I have a good reading for tonight. Even skimming through the names of posters is very educational. Thank you, I was too lazy to search.
  3. YES You should try it, too. You'll learn something about yourself, guaranteed. Would you be kind enough to find the link to that thread for me? Thanks.
  4. Yes, I'm Yuri from Bounce Bingo. Send me your money, I'll put it in my funeral fund. Bounce Bingo was one of the most educational experiences in my life. It gave me amazing powers to tell idiots from normal people from the moment they open their mouth. 5. Don't feel too secure, though, in your King status. Everything is temporary in the D/L world (unlike L/D world, where some day we will reach the absolute limit). The upper limit is infinity. At least one guy achieved it, "flying" wingsuit in a windtunnel. But that's not an acceptable record, because he had no choice. Someone who jumps with pink smoke and lands with pink face and rig, would be a good candidate. Avery, perhaps? 6. Spot, if you really think that flying better somehow would NOT make you smile after each jump, then you are, indeed, the King of D/L. Hardcore King!
  7. I'm scared of big suits in BASE. I have Vampire-2 and Phantom-1, but only jump Phantom. Not to say anything bad about Vampire - it's the premium suit universally recognized as the best suit for high-performance WS BASE - it's just my personal preference. Phantom - clean pull, much stronger muscle memory for BOC, and smaller burble. While obstruction-free pull can be designed into big suits, mattress-like suits with airlocked wings can create huge burble in which PC can hesitate, and that's a big deal when pulling at 400ft. 8. Peace, kids! Be nice, you're in the L/D Hall of Fame, the coolest museum in the world! If you want to touch each other, go to the nearby D/L Hall of Fame! Android+Wear/iOS/Windows apps: L/D Vario, Smart Altimeter, Rockdrop Pro, Wingsuit FAP iOS only: L/D Magic Windows only: WS Studio
  9. Spot, Nobody demands anything. If you saw a bunch of guys in the parking lot driving Ferraris in formation at 5mph, every day, over and over over again, building different shapes and setting "world records", but always moving at 5mph, would you demand anything from them? They do it, because they like it. However, you may post a chuckle or two on some Ferrari forum - especially if you love driving Ferrari at full speed and just enjoying that feeling of speed and perfect machine. It just doesn't make any sense, universally, to drive Ferrari formations in the parking lot. Wouldn't it be much more breathtaking and beautiful to take 100 Ferraris to one of the dry salt lakes in Utah and drive at 250mph in formation? Now, that's a sight! (I tried it with a rental car a few months ago in Utah, it's awesome, even at 100mph!) I hope nobody would argue that the sight of 100 Ferraris flying at 250mph across the desert is much more beautiful and exciting than the same 100 Ferraris crawling at 5mph in the dirt parking lot. The dust trails will also look much different - beautiful, clean rocket-like trails in the former and engulfing, toe-to-face lumpy clouds if the latter, clean faces in the former and "smoky faces" in the latter.
  10. Post pics and videos of what REAL FLYING is like! Voodew and Professor, awesome high sustained L/D flights: http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=2904 (especially when they sing "look at my enormous penis" at 04:50 forward) Looks about 2.5 or better. 11. Nice try to cover their asses, Jarno! As a beginner measurebator, you're showing a promise. But your analysis is wrong. It's obvious to the eye that your cylinder is not oriented right. If you project it on the grid plane, its axis is not in the same direction as their bodies. Once you put it in correct direction, you'll see higher D/L. Also, the perspective lines are off. Since they fly in the same direction, the lines connecting the feet of each f10cker should be parallel. By extending these lines and finding their intersection, you'll find the correct "infinity point" of the cameraman (your grid is off by ~20 degrees clockwise). "Smoky face" is the biggest sign that it can't be nowhere near L/D=2.0. Covering somebody's ass is not the same as inserting a pony plug, Jarno! 12. Tony, we at D/L Hall of Fame are not interested in the low D/L (or rather, 1/{Wind-assisted-glide-ratio}) you mentioned. Only 1.0 and higher. The rule of selection is simple: once you're seen doing D/L = 1.0 or higher, you're "busted"! Anyone who ventures into bellyflyer or poor tracking D/L land in a wingsuit, is automatically an honorable member of DLHoF. 14. Are you sure you are the king? In the world of D/L, there's always someone who can do better. What I don't understand is that when D/Ling like this, don't you suffocate from the smoke? Do you land with smoky face? Android+Wear/iOS/Windows apps: L/D Vario, Smart Altimeter, Rockdrop Pro, Wingsuit FAP iOS only: L/D Magic Windows only: WS Studio
  15. Yo! Face it: we live in the world of L/D crisis. The L/D Index™ - the average L/D of all wingsuit flights ever made - has been steadily declining in the past several years. It crossed 1.0 mark when the wingsuit world's race to improve the performance of wingsuits, at first just ghostly, turned a whiter shade of pale, as the hordes of "f10ckers" in giant mattresses blocked every ray of sun and blue skies started looking like a mosquito party in the swamps of Florida. In fact, average L/D these days is so low that it makes sense to skip typing all those leading zeroes and simply use its reciprocal - D/L - which is exponentially growing these days. Typical f10cker these days moves 2-2.5 feet down per every foot forward... and it's not the limit. In fact, there's no limit in D/L! You can always improve your D/L if you're persistent! Think about humble bellyflyers - their D/L is infinite! Hence, today we celebrate the birth of The Drag-over-Lift Hall of Fame. Put a proof here that your or somebody else's D/L is one of the highest in the world! Work on your imperformance and you may become one of the lucky chosen ones! When I saw this picture posted in another thread, I thought at first, "wow, f10ckers are finally starting to fly semi-decent!", as it seemed they were gliding at about L/D ~ 2.0. I looked at it in disbelief as if I just witnessed Mother Teresa, Jarno, and his now world famous Pony having sex in my bed, but then I took a closer look and the miracle disappeared. The horizon is not level which creates the impression of a flatter glide by looking at their aggressively pitched bodies. Level the horizon and all of a sudden you see the same hopelessly falling "bananas" you see in all f10cks. But that's not all: the smoke behind both jumpers actually goes back from their legs to their helmets, totally engulfing their backs. A telltale of an atrocious stall, a giant area of negative pressure behind their bodies which totally kills any L/D... I mean, skyrockets D/L from a mere 0.4-0.5 to a respectable 1.0-1.5 (the cameraman seems to be ahead and it makes D/L look lower than it actually is) and makes them inductees of our D/L Hall of Fame. Not the highest D/L out there, but what a spectacular presentation! Who's next? Never give up... in the world of D/L, opportunities are limitless! And if you don't want to be a D/L celebrity, there's only one way to quit. Start F L Y I N G... 17. "Yuri I flew for 19.46 seconds in 1994 at a barely-measurable altitude of 2 centimeters" WTF??? How do they know my best kept secret? And while the author is correct that "wingsuiters often travel 2.5 feet forward for every 1 foot down (that’s called the “lift-to-drag ratio”, or L/D)", he forgot to mention that "f10ckers, on the other hand, often travel 2.5 feet down for every 1 foot forward (that’s called the “drag-to-lift ratio”, or D/L)" Android+Wear/iOS/Windows apps: L/D Vario, Smart Altimeter, Rockdrop Pro, Wingsuit FAP iOS only: L/D Magic Windows only: WS Studio

  24. Why not just drop this grid BS and do what is universally recognizable by everyone in the world, be it skydivers, whuffos, media, FAI - take grips? The first true world record then would be some modest 10- or 15-way or something, but it'll be an honest one, and would require much better skills to accomplish.
