  1. hey again and thank you guys for all your comments u guys are right, it is pretty silly to put that ball so i'll switch it to something safer like that magnetic thing or the slocks! i dont wanna think what would have hapenned if that plastic ball havent snagged out and i'd try to cutaway... especially with my RSL connected ...
  2. hey guys last week i had my first malfunction. I'm posting it here since i'm sure we can learn a lot about it. Main Canopy: Katana 97 Container: Infinity RSL: yes Reserve: PD113 Cypress: yes the toggles slack got caught up with the slider's catcher that was on the reserve flap. the slider's catcher just snapped out of the reserve flap and somehow this whole mess was all around my right risers... here are some pictures that we took on the ground after we've found the main canopy what do u guys think? what could have prevent this from happening? i already heard few possibilities: 1) fixing the toggles slack in it's place would have prevent it 2) the last stowing rubber band was made too close to the riser which caused the d-bag float very close above the container on opening... if thats the case, any line could have caught that slider catcher, not just the toggles slack... 3) non of this could have happened if i didnt have a slider catcher (whats the name of that thing anyways?). very lucky me that it didnt stay on the reserve flap - and then i could cut away... here's the cutaway video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17E1DKsZjI8 even though it's not easy u might notice that theres something wrapped around both right risers... what do you guys think? :-Dan
  3. Some freeflying pics from Israel! well most of them :-) .... Enjoy!
  4. well that make sense... so if i do take something 120 and stay at 1.13 wingloading maybe it's better to take a canopy that is built for those kind of wingloadings. i.e safire2, sabre2 etc... would it be a wiser step? (but if i look at it that way then even a 107 i'd load 1.27... so go to another tapred-107 and so on...)
  5. yeah that a posibility... it's just that i have only about 50 jumps on my 120 and never jumped an eliptical before. wouldnt it be a big step to go eliptical and downsizing as well? and even if i do, should i get a katana107? crossfire2-109? stilletto107? (i heard that with stilletto recovery arc is short and i have to start high speed landing approach low)
  6. hello all I am a light jumper with 136lbs exit weight. i got 500+ jumps and jumping my spectre 120 for the past 50 jumps (had a sabre2 135 before of that).i'm thinking about going towards eliptical canopy. i belive that the right thing to do is taking eliptical at the same size (120). my question is what is the best first eliptical canopy considering i wingload it 1.13 ? from what i understood wingloading is very low for those canopies to stay in a dive (low recovery arc) i'd appriciate your comments Dan
  7. i need to buy a camra and i got hard choise between the two...
  8. hey there i'm gonnabe in the following week in Bedford UK windtunnel and i'm looking for someone to split an hour with. the idea is to make the rate cheaper (£300 instead of £320 each) and maybe to fly together some of the time so each one can get more then half an hour. i'm a freeflyer BUT i'm working on my belly skills right now so if anybody is interested just contact me to : [email protected] or 07881678409 (in the UK). i have time booked for 28th but they said i can move it if i notice ahead. so it's flexible. Thanks Dan PS sorry for posting here but i couldnt find any right category at the classifieds...
  9. I paid 1800$ that included 1 coached hour in the windtunnel + 10 coached jumps. Both Tunneltime and the jumps were with Mike Swanson and included the communication technology (that super helped me in the tunnel)! Hope it helps Dan
  10. I was there just before nationals started. I left at the first day of nationals. did u stay there also?
  11. Just thought about sharing my good experience with you guys.... at September 04, I got to perris to get some jumps done and freefly coaching with Mike Swanson. I got there after 2 years of low jumping and not so current. Saved my money so I could go somewhere where I could jump a lot and get some good coaching. I did some looking around and decided to combine Tunnel time with jumps because it seemed to be the most effective tool there is. After getting there I started my coached program with Mike that I have to say made me feel really comfortable! I had good chemestry with the guy and it went great during the jumps and at the windtunnle. Mike also used a radio device that he could talk to me DURING freefall!!! Amazing!!!! it saves you so much effort in trying geting the signals! It helped me escpecialy in the tunnle when I learned how to fly on my back. during flying he told me I need to look up all the time. with the radio device he just talked to me (there was an earplug in my ear) and told me where to go and what i'm doing right/wrong. the good thing was I didnt have to look for him. he could stand outside the door and talk.. During freefall it's a bit funny at the begining to hear some1 talking to u during freefall. but it feels like you're being briffed on air :) like you're watching ur own video and fixing your self! about the tunnel: I feel that after one hour at the tunnel with Mike, I've made an improvment I couldnt do along in the air. it tought me how to use small movements and take docks at sit which I never dreamed I could do. suddenly freeflying in a small room looked so easy (hey I was mister "all over the place" when i used to sit:) . it improved me big time in the air and with no doubt at all I'd recommand it to everybody. For me the tunnel was so powerful because of the combination of good coach with direct communication and combining tunnel flying at night and jumping at day. What can I say? I feel great to be current again and I thank the Alchemy for doing it bigtime! Good Vibes!
