Where/how far are the DZ's from the Dallas area? "I love 'lamp'." -SKYMAMA

In short, I went there as a tandem a couple of times, and once with my A license after I finally got it. It seemed I was treated quite different. Not bad, just much better when I was a tandem. Felt a little unwelcome by a few people. Most people are fine, its just a couple of individuals.

Who's going out tomorrow or Sunday? I am back in town and itching to JUMP!!! "I love 'lamp'." -SKYMAMA

OH no. Not scared, just not there yet. I am leaving today, (saturday) which is the day I usually go to palatka. And I plan on jumping while I am there but we will see, since I have to share a rental care with a few other people. "I love 'lamp'." -SKYMAMA

I got my A license yesterday!!! It took me 3 motnhs but I finally did it!!! Thanks to the awesome people at Skydive PALATKA for all your help. Cant wait 'till the HOG FLOP "I love 'lamp'." -SKYMAMA

I know of a guy at my DZ who is 56 (if I remember right) and a lady who was in her mid 40's. I dont think its all that uncommon either. "I love 'lamp'." -SKYMAMA

I could not agree more. The one thing I have noticed for sure about this sport is that EVERYONE progresses VERY VERY different. From finishing AFF in just 2 days to those who have taken 2 years for one reason or another. So dont judge yourself by comparing to others. Also, I could not believe (how goose put it) the sense of community and friendliness in the sport overall. Of course there are always exceptions but for the most part, everybody is super cool, and super encouraging. Since day one of my AFF i have spent EVERY single weekend at the dropzone. I started AFF (ground school) July 9. Weather was a pain the whole time I was trying to do my jumps so the first was the 12th. Did my 7th jump on the 23rd. My favorite was the 6th jump. The flips and barrel rolls. First time I really felt I was in control. Plus it was also my first time standing up the landing. Hopefully I can finish the last of my jumps this weekend and get my A license. "I love 'lamp'." -SKYMAMA

Again since I have only been around for a few weeks, I hope NOBODY takes this the wrong way but isnt this ABSOLUTELY EXTRELMELY (I cant spell for chit) dangerous? And what is the purpose/goal behind it? And last, is this a common practice? Again I am NOT critsizing anyone or second guessing or whatever..
