  1. I never met her either but when I read the news this morning I teared up thinking about all her posts I had enjoyed reading and how her friends and family will miss her so much. The pictures everyone is posting here made me smile as I realized she was loved so much and she was enjoying her life completely with friends who cared! She must have known she was loved in life and that is priceless.
  2. Oh my god, this person has the REAL solution for sure!
  3. Poking the ceiling does nothing but put little round dots on your ceiling that you'll most likely have to pay for. Best advice, get used to the loud lesbians or move. It ain't going to get any better even if you do talk to them. Been there, done that, well not with elephantine lesbians but a similar situation. Move-- trust me!
  4. Read the book and I loved it! My husband didn't read the book and he enjoyed it very much! I think the critics were just lying in wait to rip this one up just for fun. They were just in the mood to be pissy I think.
  5. If they have a guy that cuts their grass you could call him ahead and ask to ride his lawn mower through their yard like you're him while they are there. I'd die laughing if you were my kid and I looked out there and saw you riding back and forth instead of the normal guy! Or, you could get there and immediately start washing their cars. They'd hear the water running and be like WTF, who's running the water?
  6. That's because Nashville has tons of people who can sing circles around the American Idol people! The sad part is that in Nashville, I know more people who are painters or construction workers who are waiting for their big break! People just don't realize how much talent there is in this town. Remember the song lyrics of Lullaby by Shawn Mullins: I told her I ain't so sure about this place It's hard to play a gig in this town And keep a straight face Seems like everybody's got a plan It's kind of like Nashville with a tan. So true! In the future they should get everyone from here!
  7. I just threw up thinking about that! Thank you for serving us all!
  8. but I would rather that than staying up there any longer than I have to. Ah, good point too! Thanks for the info!
  9. Many thanks for clearing that up! Hubby wants to know if you are an ex/current ranger and if so, do you know 12 ways to kill silently? I want to know if I should worry.
  10. My husband and I are watching the television show "U.S. Army Ranger" on the Military Channel. They showed these people jumping out of planes with round parachutes. Why do they use the round ones? They all seemed to hit the ground kinda hard. If I posted in the wrong place, so sorry!
  11. Thanks for the info! That's super close to me. I'm just a tiny duffus newbie at this sport so it sounds like a spectator sport for me there. But I love to watch! Thanks!
  12. In Tullahoma? Really? Where is it there? Is there a website to visit to get more info? Sorry to be so dingy but just didn't know about this at all!
  13. Oh yeah, as far as cleaning it just use vinegar and water to clean it. TBH, anything will leave water spots on it unless you use a towel to dry it afterwards. My sister used one of those Hoover things for hard floors that sprays water and then squeegies it up and she swore it worked wonders. ??? Forget those expensive Swiffer thingies as they leave a slight film even when you get the ones for hard wood floors that are wet. Still, even with the water spots you will love Pergo!
  14. Spring for the extra sound padding too if they still offer it. Pergo is loud as hell if you live in an open floorplan house like we used to and have dogs. We wished over an over we had gotten it! You will LOVE Pergo when you paint because if you spill it on it it will just flake off!
  15. He's officially gone now. Turns out he is a young dog and not fixed at all. My neighbor was the one who looked for me and apparently the dog just had some little guys that hadn't come down yet but they are there! He also has an infection under all that hair on his back from flea bites. Poor little guy! He's at the right place now as the lady at the agency is so nice and very knowledgeable (ie she knows non-descenders from cutaways so to speak!). I'm a little sad that he's gone now but know he'll find a good home.
  16. I was actually surprised to see the vet tech whip out a couple of different scanners. I figured there would be just one also. No chip registered though with either. I just got through talking with the rescue lady and she further pissed on my mood. She just got a call from a local county's pound because they "need to clean the place so they are going to euthanize all the animals there". Holy crap! She went to grab a bunch of them-- kennel cough and all. She is a saint! I almost died when I heard what she said. Man! She's going to keep this little guy with her and away from the new rowdies with kc till he finds a home. This is all too sad for me. Sadder for the dogs though!
  17. Here's an easy recipe: 555-PIZZA! Anybody can do that!
  18. You did something nice by bringing the gift so don't twist it into you somehow bringing the wrong thing for dinner. It was nice, so there! However, if you came to my house for dinner and I'd made cheese whiz soup and crackers, I probably wouldn't crack open the wine you brought that night. I wouldn't feel bad about it either because I would just be assuming you brought it as a gift for me and weren't expecting me to open it then. Wine seems different for some reason than say pastries that you tell me ahead of time you are bringing for the dinner. It's been a planned element of the dinner all along and I'd expect to serve it then. On a similar note, I've taken wine to a dinner party with other people only to notice the wine bottle pile up from others doing the same. I'm trying to find something else to start taking because everyone takes wine so much. Although it does restock the host's wine supply after a party so that's kinda nice for them I guess. What to do!!! That's my take on it.
  19. Uuhhh, now you're freaking me out! Little guy may have to stay here if you keep that kind of stuff up!
  20. It may be necessary for me to get one one day. I seem to forget where I am half the time!
  21. Yeah, there are a million of them. I checked the first few that popped up on a Google search. I also sent the flier to the pound and the rescue agencies around town. Still nothing. Sad. I wish there was just one registry that people knew to go to to report lost/found dogs.
  22. Yeah, actually there is a woman who lives in my neighborhood and has a million dogs like this. I was afraid it was hers and I'd have to hand him over to her. She's already been to court over her dog hoarding behavior.... My neighbor and I were debating what to do if it was hers. It's not thank God! My two dogs seem to like the little guy just fine but he is so small he can get out of the low spots all over the fence and both my dogs are diggers so the low spots multiply. So, he's off to the agency today to find a fantastic home! We got one of our dogs from the same place and the lady who owns it is a saint! I know she will do right by him.
  23. Broomstick! Yes, this little Swiffer of a dog is a serious cutie!
  24. Well then, how about husbands or boyfriends? Might be handy!
  25. I found an adorable dog yesterday wandering in the street where the UPS man likes to come racing through. The dog (see pic) was wandering around without a collar. :( The rescue agency suggested I take it to the vet to see if it had a microchip. It didn't and that made me sad to think of how easy it would have been to get this little guy home if the owners had gotten a chip implanted for him. I've posted/emailed posters everywhere for him but no luck. It costs $53 at my vet and I'm going to be getting one asap for my two muttballs that I love like kids. It is an easy procedure with somewhat little pain according to the vet tech. Pretty worth it though! Please pray these owners call! I'm taking him to the rescue agency tomorrow if they don't call tonight. The ra is a nice place but I just feel he wants to go home.
