  1. I was wanting to get everyone's experiences in college and what ideas they had/carried out for dates. Obviously jumping takes a big toll on my wallet, so what are some good ideas for taking girls out on a small budget?
  2. thanks for the article...got some really good ideas in there. we are working on a bunch of them here at University of Georgia. I like the meetings at a restaurant or bar though, we haven't thought of that yet. Alex UGA Skydiving Club
  3. I have just started jumping with a rookie 4-way team here at the University of Georgia, currently trying to get ready for collegiates in December. On Saturday, we did two drill drives of alternating satellites, and i had a real problem on staying close to the formation and general ease of flying. after our video debrief, it was clear my arch was through my chest instead of my hips (hence making it harder for me to fly). has anyone else dealt with this early in their jumping career and if so, how did you get through it? any drills to practice? i am heading to the tunnel next month for some instruction, but wanted to get some rw'ers thoughts.

  5. sorry to bust the bubble, but the uga crew at the last minute has decided not to go....i gotta take out a new guy for his aff-1 and $$$$ of course, but we'll see everyone in 2 weeks at the next one... Alex Tell the fat brit to win one for me! Alex UGA Skydiving Club
  6. I have been watching this and the other thread in the instructors forum about the coaching requirements. I am currently finishing my requirements to take the coach rating course. I do expect some criticism, but the fact is that I'm not doing it to get paid jumps, in my case I'm getting it so I can work with students from the University Of Georgia club. One of my teammates and I are both working to get it so we can help reduce the amount of money new jumpers are spending. And to respond to you Spence, I understand that more time in the sport is better, but I feel that I could probably be a stronger coach with 100 jumps in 7 months vs. 100 jumps in two years. I make that point because of currency, and in my experience I have learned so much more by simply empyting my wallet and jumping every weekend, instead of going out every couple weeks. I may totally get bombarded by this, but its what I feel. I love to skydive and honestly, I don't care if I get a dime for coached jumps, even if they make me broke....ok thats it for now Alex UGA Skydiving Club
  7. LOL nevermind i just got 61!!!! woo-hoo..... UGA students can do all!! Alex UGA Skydiving Club
  8. I figured a college student would be really good at this game...but alas billy has got me beat. the farthest i've been able to get is 49 meters. guess i need to go get some more practice Alex UGA Skydiving Club
  9. i didn't realize i officially signed up, but its cool ill play. man, if i knew you guys were so into charity, i would've signed up the "fund to get mejewa booze so he can get some in athens" charity. we're always looking for financial support. Alex Alex UGA Skydiving Club

  12. Welcome to the life of a broke college student! You all speak in hypotheticals, but after the money i spend on jumping, that sounds about like what i have left. I'm a big fan of the ramen, and you can get a "real dinner" stoffers for $2. Yum. And you can buy a 12-pack of natty for $7. Looks like I've got my week planned.... Alex UGA Skydiving Club
  13. pruitt!!! nice job handling everything my man. I know I have rushed packjobs to make those calls too, but appreciate you sharing your story and reminding us to take care when packing. ill see you soon man. Alex aka. Mejewa Alex UGA Skydiving Club
  14. yea just wanted to say the same thing everyone else said. its always a blast hanging out with everyone at the farm, even if I can't ever get any of my friends to come. And once I can legitimately get into the strip clubs and not sneak in like a sketchball...I'm down for it. Naked tandem man was defintely a highlight, and no one else had to sit between peanut's legs on the way to altitude. let's just say i was worried i would get a suprise at pull altitude. and andy's famous "ready...where'd they go?" count will never be forgotten. anyway, back to reading, but i just wanted to say it was fun and lookin forward to the next one. Alex UGA Skydiving Club
  15. oh god fatboy didnt we already deal with this issue earlier in the thread...college students need that money more than your ass...leave it to a brit to talk about the same stuff all the time, . btw anyone got a camper i can crash in? the hard concrete has slowly lost its appeal over the last few months. Alex UGA Skydiving Club
  16. i'd like that list too, so I can learn those songs on my tambereen and i can play along...cumbaya anyone? Alex UGA Skydiving Club
  17. You're full of it, lee is scared of my beautiful moves and daring bets...we could sell tickets to watch me play and id have my buy-in. you'll be eating bangers and mash 2 minutes after we start... and quite frankly i dont know what to say to the red lace panties comment...im just disturbed . andy where you been anyway? Alex UGA Skydiving Club
  18. Sounds like fun as always guys count me in for sure. I'm sure the rest of the UGA crew will be there as well. Lee, make sure you're going to actually be there so I can take all of your chips. The Mexi-Jew will show you no mercy! Alex UGA Skydiving Club
  19. Hey guys, I am usually jumping at Monroe or at The Farm in Atlanta, but the chance to jump all this stuff so close looks good! I think I'm gonna come by myself, are there enough people that I could do some RW stuff with? Sounds like it will be fun, my first visit to Chester!
