  1. I think it is pathetically hilarious when people think that you couldn't get hurt in a tunnel or make jokes about it being "safer than skydiving." If anything it is much more dangerous than free fall, the only reason these injuries don't occur more ofter is because of strict tunnel rules. Wuffos and skydivers alike think that the tunnel instructors are just uptight when the are told that they can't do flips, etc.
  2. ***I am too inexperienced to work as an instructor If you are going to be an instructor, you are fine coming in with zero experience. By zero I mean zero skydives and zero tunnel time. The trainers often prefer to start from scratch, so there are no bad habits to break.

Ouch, 2x min. wage. There was previous chat of SV instructors making minimum wage, which is incorrect. I the 2x disappoints you, just remember these are not IT professionals. Ask the other tunnels (including SkyVentures) what they pay their instructors.

For those who have discussed SkyVenture instructor positions: It's easier to get than you think, it's just about applying at the right time (there might be positions available now). Skydiving experience isn't important. You'll make twice the minimum wage and can expect to fly 50-100 hours per year.
