I never said that that was no basis for the problem...I did say that to continue to just blame it is stupid. The solution is for children to take ownership of their education and parents to make their children study. One of the biggest reasons one segment does better that the other is due to the focus of the parents. Its not race, its not the area they grew up in, it is direct involvment by parents. An involved parent rasies better children than a parent that lets the kid be raised by peers. The solution is to have parents become involved, not just blaming discrimination. And with that, I am done. It is clear to me that some would rather balme something that can not be changed rather than blame the people involved. I wish I could say that this was enlightening, but it seems to just be the same old stuff. It seems to be whitey's fault.

There you go again. Did you even read OBL's letter to America? Read it some time. He lists ALL the reasons they are fighting us. You just refuse to listen to the other side in anything. That is foolish. Do I think they have a right to do what they are doing? Nope. But at least I understand their reasons. And that is important if you are going to deal with them. And at what point do you balme the person and stop blaming the area? If they are a criminal, was it them, or the block they grew up on? People can make choices, its the great thing about being human. A rich kids son has more available such as tutors ect. I know that. But what I also know is that people make choices. If a person decides to spend his afternoon watching TV he made a choice not to spend that time reading and doing homework. The biggest factor IMO is the parents, not the area.

True, I took a test that assumed that I know how many baseball players on a team. But that is a different claim you just made than the one about polo. How do you know what race/color I am? It was in an area that is questionable. There were people there who had attacked a driver for hitting someone there before. She was a small woman and scared. Does the knowledge that attacks and beatings have happend in that same area for the same thing change your mind? I find fault in her for not driving to the police station and driving home instead. She went home, put the car in the garage and contacted a lawyer. She was, and she was found guilty.

That test question would not make it onto a standardized test. But if you were to substitute a basketball team/football team, then you would be in fact doing the same thing in reverse. So, what can you use as a guage? Not everyone has the same background. You claim to be a professor. Do you not write your questions better than that? You above all should know that any standard test will include the information needed to answer it in the question. However, are you wishing to down dumb the tests, or increase the level of education?

Asians have more of a cultural difference, yet they do very well. Ignoring that Mom and Dad are the biggest factors in a childs education is ignorant. Plaming the problem on tests is shifting the blame from the family to "The Man" and is just that, a blame shift. Would you feel better if the tests in high school were ebonic?
