  1. GDay All I have taken possession of a great used canopy with advertising letters sewn on bottom skin (its a 120 ZP elliptical) Would like to remove the lettering but would it be detrimental to performance? Would all the threadless stitch holes let lots of air out? Thanks

    Troll Sizing

Thanks skreamer....do you notice much difference in performance between the two ie due to potentially different wingloading?

    Troll Sizing

Heyall have read that Atair measures their canopies different to other manufacturers and wondered if a troll at 245 would give equivalent performance/wingloading/pack volume to a fox/flik at 265 or an ace at 260?

    WS-Extreme

Heya All Was wondering if anyones had experience on using a ws-extreme for general jumping inc low FF, static line etc? Is it a good option for an all round rig? Any downsides? Also is there any donwside generally for non-ws jumps with dynamic corners? Thanks
  7. Hey All I want to test jump a large canopy but have a small container and remember somebody mentioning the use of a "foil" (I think thats what its called) for such a purpose. Basically its a bit of box shaped fabric the shape of the bottom of your container but bigger with grommets etc. that fits around the harness laterals. You whack it on and can fit a bigger canopy into your rig. (Probably not recommended for freeflying but what the heck.) So can anyone help....am I dreaming or does such a thing exist and any advise on where to get one from? Thanks
  8. Heyall anyone done the dynamic corners on a talon? if so is it same as others...unstich and bar tack? Thanks
  9. I vote yes...he died doing a bad-ass attempted base jump. In fact I see more legitamacy in this as a bona fide base jump (he really didnt know what the hell was gonna happen but he rolled the dice anyway) compared to the thousands of 1 second delays from huge bridges with open landing areas that happen every year.

There is an old steeplejack trick I have seen used in a similar situation that is fast and very easy (if you are a steeplejack). Not easy to explain but here goes. The bloke had a rope with a loop on the end which just about fit on the crown of his head (ie his head wouldnt fit through it). He chucked the end of the rope up and through the bottom rung of the ladder. Then he started pulling on the rope, and kind of leaned his body backwards so it was at 45degrees to the chimney. Then he just walked up the side of the chimney, all the while pulling up the rope and using the pull of the rope on his head to give him traction. Amazing stuff.
  12. Just wondering if anyone has had a go at any form of wingsuit towing? Thinking along the lines of: being towed by rope from the back of a pick up screaming across the salt flats (bit like parascending) or towed behind a plane (bit like a glider) or tethered flights in a horizontal wind tunnel
