  1. its a pretty good idea to reformat your card after every job
before you start shooting again. its also helpful to name each folder, with whatever you prefer (if your camera allows this, some canons dont, i think) then make sure you reset (or intentionally do not, if you are continuing from a certain point) your number sequence so your images start at xxx_0001.jpg etc..

if you dont reformat your cards regularly, and they see a healthy amount of use and travel (in the camera, in the pocket, in the car with the windows up:S) then it is only a matter of time until you get a replace card or card cannot be used error message, and more than likely right after exit, and on a paying job.

but i still like to watch base vids on youtube and hope to post some of my own as soon as i get comfy with my new fox

well have fun all by yourself then. and somewhere else at that.

  3. hey guys. if you wantto know how to clean your sensor.. perhaps read that little book that came with your camera... you know the one.. the instruction manual.

it also demystifys such exotic terms as ,

    -white balance
    -aperature
    -shutter
-iso (no more pesky auto/program mode"
-how to turn "on" the camera
    -how to "change" a "lens"

and the big one "what settings do i use?"

    good luck. -b

Hell, I even cliimbed a 1700 footer a few weeks ago

yeah right. that never happened. hell youre probably too old to climb towers telling jokes and drikn vicodins.

  5. full frame sensor is nice to have, but not at all totally necessary... the biggest pain, is on the short end of things, 15mm lens = 20mm but thats not the end of the world if you know ahead of time and plan accordingly..

its a bonus if youre shooting land-based action sports from afar with a telefoto because now your 200mm=250mm.

(math may be jacked, but principle is the same...)

  6. dont forget a piece of gaffers tape to hold the bottom of the "flippy thing" down, otherwise you will lose your "flippy thing" and probably "flip out" when you getr the repair bill.

its only 80 bux but it still a pain.

(mine was lost in a windtunnel)

  7. see. all the old salts get it. they are the real skydivers. the trail blazers. either you are a competent skydiver or you arent.

there is nothing better than a beautiful day, 4 friends and a cessna (dont forget the pilot!) over the beach, with a nice fat one for the ride to altitude. who needs a dz?

gucci jumpers. nice matching everything. i laugh at much of the modern skydiving "scene" have fun with your circle jerks, kiddos.

I've always wondered, which element is best for someone's first BASE and why?
