    Tf may 7?

Would like to meet up with some people to jump w/ on the 7th. Anybody gonna be around? thanks
  5. maybe you should dig it out and sell to a manufacturer?
  6. The other morning i was out with a friend doing a jump off a nice span. There was a fog/cloud layer below opening alt. (not obscuring landing) After opening I was flying a slow approach about 1/2 brakes. When I hit the fog level my canopy slightly stalled and bucked a little. i let up just a little on the brakes and canopy resumed normal flight and i landed fine. Just wondering If anybody else has had this happen to them? Or maybe i stalled the canopy?
  7. I have not had the oppotunity to base jump yet, But I wonder why, on a site the is supposed to be about information and learning, valid questions get 1 or 2 answers and flaming people, while for possible valid reasons, although in my opinion it doesn't belong here, gets 100's ?? We have seen the enemy..... it is ourselves.
  8. Been flying a nitron 150. have to say i love it. a liitle faster than the 170, but not crazy. The flight characteristics are very wide from fast to slow it's very stable, great glide. And the flare isssss crazy at 1/4 flare it's planes out and a touch more at the end sets it down like a feather... still a lot to learn before I do any riser input close to the ground,so straight in for a while. i highly recommend this canopy

    Why 7 cell

Makes sense. What about what the other suggestion of having a larger center cell? maybe just wider than the rest.?
  10. mfnren

    Why 7 cell

So why does there have to be one "center" cell?
  11. mfnren

    Why 7 cell

So Why aren't canopies made in a 6 cell, or 8? Maybe two center cells would inflate more evenly and balance each other out?
  12. I don't know if I agree with you guys about tracking and delta position be totally different. Of course you want a full track on break off to gain as much seperation as possible, But I think of delta and full track as "degrees" of tracking-from slow to fast. There is no single tracking position. On any dive where you are tracking you will probably use many different body positions for varing degrees of speed depending on what you are doing. Why classify it as 2 seperate things?
  13. Nitro and blade rep....Beezy? Thanks for all the replys. Just so you know I'm not planning on going straight to a 150 from a 190, flying quite a bit in the 170 range 1st.Not sure which canopy in the 150 range I'll go to.
  14. I demo-ed a nitron 170 about a month ago, it had sweet openings, super soft and on heading. Did eat up quite a bit of altitude compared to what I'm used to(pd190,not much of a guage) and the landings ruled! I am talking about the NITRON, not NITRO, any body know the specifics between them?
  15. I've heard 2 ways of landing after losing a toggle or releasing it to clear a line-over. 1-keep the other toggle and use the riser 2- throw away both toggles in the event of losing one and fly with both risers(obviously) Both articales said not to do the other method? which do you all recomend?
  16. hey yall, was wondering what your personal opinions are on the design and flight differences are between a nitron and sabre2(assuming same size and wing loading,around1.2-1,150 sq. ")? Thanks
  17. Just advice, It might not be right for her situation. I have a similar csnopy at low wingoading (.94/1) and jump at a high altitude. The advice should be doubted and analyzed.
  18. i have had the same experience,My last 80 jumps have been on a pd 190.I had some scary landings on no wind days as well. But you don't need a new canopy to have better landings, although it definately would help, what I have found is that you really need to feel the flare.. don't just flare in one motion, As you come near the ground start to flare slowly ,and as you start flying more parallel to the ground continue your flare to decrease your speed, then start running. This happens pretty much in one motion. The thing is to try and get your canopy to fly parallel relatively close to the ground so you don't have to step down when you land ,more like step up out of your harness transitioning to a run.And come in full speed , although it's scary at 1st, that speed is what will give you lift, if you try and come in slow it just makes things worse. Check out the section on canopy control in safety, and read flying and landing hp canopies. Helped me alot.
  19. Also check out the canopy control section of the safety section. Flying and landing high performance canopies and the book of canopy control.
  20. Hey guys, thanks for your input..
  21. Sorry, Who's Tj? And whats the avitar? thanks
  22. I am still learning how to carve around on my belly as well, and I'm not talking about a steep head down carve...yetthats a long ways off, I have done some carving in sit but I can't just do it whenever,it's just kind of happened, and am wondering how other people do it?? carving advice in general. Thanks
  23. Is learning how to fly headdown necesarry to start backflying?Or is starting from tracking on your back an option?? I guess having both is probably best
  24. Wasn't trying to be a smart ass, Should have been more specific about my request. I realize there are alot of people that don't know if they have freefly friendly gear.. ..was just trying to say, before any conclusions are made, that I have had my rig checked.. rendejo
  25. whoa there, who said I was trying to carve on my back?I just asked for some Ideas on learning how to...And my rig has good velcro and I have had it checked out to make sure it was safe for freeflying. rendejo
