In general, CPR is WORTHLESS for trauma victims. Might work for cardio-pulmonary arrest related to - uh - non traumatic cardiopulmonary arrest - but not for trauma. If I was there, would say "yep - dead is dead" Believe me - been there, done that.

Most likely pulled/torn muscles but I agree you should get checked out to make sure nothing more serious. As far as hurting more later, soft tissue injuries take 3 to 4 days to peak - often what you feel on day one is tip of the iceberg. Massage and stretching like suggested before are great for soft tissue injuries. Also Aleve or Ibuprofen. Avoid the narcs.

I am thinking about the LLC - not really sure how much that will help. Was planning on an umbrella too. Aw hell, I am going to take the course. I like working with students. Can't spend my life worrying about what might happen. See ya in a month, Kip."We saved your gear. Now you can sell it when you get out of the hospital and upsize!!" "K-Dub"

Thanks, Andy - the thread has a lot of food for thought. And thanks Glideangle for your points. That is part of my concern - even if you do everything right, things can go wrong, as everybody in the sport should know.
I was all excited about the course, but on the advice of a fellow jumper at my DZ, started thinking about the liability issue. I hate to alter my life due to some risk, but also hate to risk my hard earned assets on instructing."We saved your gear. Now you can sell it when you get out of the hospital and upsize!!" "K-Dub"

I am planning on taking my AFFI course this fall. I love working with students, our DZ needs AFFI's, and I want to give back some of what has been given to me in this sport. However, I have some ? about potential liability. I am a physician, and even with waivers, worry about being viewed as a "deep pocket" if there is an accident with a student. Even with the waivers, there is always an attorney willing to sue. Just wondering if this issue has bothered others?

""I didn't think that Remi was going to be at Chicks Rock, but maybe I'm wrong. Still, that is pretty funny about naming Rem (in addition to Doc) as the official DPH inspector. As if he needed any more reasons for this type of behavior. This is the ultimate "Perv Pass"! ""

Driving in Snow Alert . . .
in The Bonfire
Automatic or manual is not the issue, despite your oversimplified solution to the problem. Granted, some Spokane drivers are idiots ( as in all places) but there are some steep hills here, and yesterday was one of those days with fresh snow, just under freezing, conditions ripe for nice packed down snow and extremely slippery conditions. As you can see, once they started down the hill and braked they had NO CONTROL. But of course, Mr canuck, your manual transmission would have made all the difference in the world
And by the way, Spokane street department wouldn't want to be inconvenienced to go sand the hills for a mere inch or 2 of snow when more than likely warm weather will eventually solve the problem
