Skydive Snohomish does static line progression for their students. They may be wiling. Give them a call and ask.

In the USOA IAD progression, most of what you need to do to get signed off for your "A" entails jumping with a coach or instructor. Do a jump or two by yourself for fun and to build confidence, then get to working on your skills with a coach or instructor. Then keep jumping, with others as much as possible, and work on your belly skills for another 50 or so jumps before adding new stuff (sit, etc) And after your "A", start working on your canopy requirements for your "B".

I was interested in his argument why the angle flyers should not exit first. When we jump at Sebastian, the angle flying group always wants to exit first. Burke makes a convincing argument why they should not. (I think they just want to sit in the back of the otter)

Oh - missed the post earlier in the thread. Just was wondering if you needed a place to crash, but if you are arriving at noon, you will be heading straight to LP. About 4 to 4 1/2 hours from the airport. I 90 to CdAlene, Rt 95 N to past Bonners Ferry, then Rt 2 East to Lake McGregor. I assume that is what mapquest told you too.

30 or 40 too old to start!!! Not at all.

I did my first jump (tandem) at age 51, and immediately signed up for lessons. This weekend will be my 9th jump birthday, and I have 1283 jumps now.

I will go with Aggie Dave and say traffic cops.

West Plains Skydiving in Ritzville, WA (50 miles E of Spokane) is having a Memorial Day boogie. Caravan and 182. T-shirts for sale. NO BOOGIE FEE! Lots of events, lots of fun. Free camping. Showers $1. Friday night Spaghetti feed, $6. Saturday night potluck. Inexpensive breakfasts will be available. Mixology contest, twister game, poker tournament. Night jumps on Saturday weather permitting. Helicopter jumps are a maybe - still working on this. Plus a raffle to benefit Dana Fuller, a local skydiver who had a spinal injury last year. Kit's funeral will be Saturday, March 2 at 10am at the Catholic Church in Cody, Wyoming.

Cody took me under his wing when I was finishing up my student work in Lake Wales. He had a passion for jumping with baby jumpers, and would often see a solo waiting to board and grab them to make an impromptu 3 way or 4 way. He always came over to jump with us when we came to Sebastian in the winter, and he was a regular at Lost Prairie. He could talk your ear off and had story after story. His business card had a parachute, motorcycle, snowmobile, and an airplane on each corner. He was a great jumper as long as there were not more than 2 points to remember He hated what he called "chunk" exits but liked to fly to his slot instead. There will be a memorial service in Florida this friday (details pending) and his main service will be in Cody Wyoming sometime in March.

I played with the poster by email. Offered her 4k which she rapidly accepted, and she sent me her paypal info. I asked her for phone # to call with ?, and she said she was at work and to ask all ? on email. I asked her then what was her home DZ and name of her rigger so I could verify the rig condition, and never heard back. I forwarded my string of email to my friend who got scammed originally so she could forward it all to paypal in support of her claim.

I hope she gets caught and punished.

This is definitely a scam. A gal from our DZ purchased it last week, sent money via pay pal, never received it, no tracking #, and it is reposted. She is disputing it with pay pal, and the bitch told pay pal the money was a "donation"
