. . . to perform on someone else?

    Lobotomy.
    Or Electro-Shock Therapy.
What can I say? I'm into the classics.

Didn't you already try the shock therapy a few years back with some of those electric X ways?

You mean my accidental Electric 1-Way?
Yeah. ....Good memory ya got there a**hole! >:(

    Yup, that's the one. ;)

  2. At night, floating in a tandem kayak behind the Statue of Liberty. Pre-Sept. 11 of course. Only time I tried paddling back there after Sept 11 I was greeted with the deck gun on a coast guard boat. Last time I tried that one!

  3. Depending on how hard yor tap water is, letting the rain rinse it can help you avoid all the water spots too.

  4. And PS...what better campaign for LIVESTRONG than "sometimes after spending years on the receiving end, it's time to reach out and do what you can to help others."

  5. Extremely doubtful you'd ever see a 1, 2, 3 finish, or even a 1-2 finish. Like someone else mentioned, as they move into the big hills every member of the team aside from the "leader" will have to give all they've got to get the leader where they need to be. Look at people like Hincapie. He's a stronger all around rider than many other teams leaders, but for 7 tours his job was getting lance where he needed to be. There aren't enough members on the team (especially with LL gone) to have either lance or Alberto holding anything back for themselves. If the team wants to take the yellow into Paris, then the team will have to make a tough decision very soon, if they haven't already. Lance is obviously a sentimental favorite, but i hope if it is him that needs to step up as a domestique that he'll stand by the comments he's been making about "someone" needing to realize what will be necessary when the time comes.

  6. Did you do it back in 2000, or whatever year it was that NYC 2012 organized it? There were old timers coming in with elite times. The current was so much faster than predicted, and then swimmers got funneled UNDER the take out barge. Kayakers were being swamped by 4 or 5 swimmers each. They really are lucky nobody died. We moved the course further towards shore after the first two heats and the rest of the day was uneventful. Looking back, a lot of fun, no so much fun at the time.

  7. On what section of the river is the swim portion these days? I used to assist with the organization of kayak support for all of the swims and will never forget the madness of the first NYC tri when the current was stronger than predicted and the swim take out was chaos. Lucky nobody died that year. That year and the few following were my only exposure to the elite classification of athletes. Unreal watching them go through the transitions.

  8. Patients/the public in general get an edited version while I'm working, but that's it. Can't say that's always been the case with co-workers, but I'm working with a pretty good group of people these days. There are a lot of barriers that come down when you live together while at work.

Also used to present a mostly edited version of myself when dating. Finally realized that they need to know who I am from the beginning. If they don't like it, fine, but I'd rather find out sooner than later.

  9. For those joking about a dry heat not making much of a difference, try out 98 degrees with 90% RH and let me know what you think about the dry heat! Goes the same for the cold. I've lived in places where a high of -10 was a heatwave and have never been colder than I was on a windy day that was 45 and 90% RH. Didn't matter how many layers you wore, the wet cold got through 'em all!

  10. We've been hangin' in the high 90s with heat index 110-118. Record breaking drought on top of it. Of course it's just a little on the humid side too...wouldn't be south Texas if it wasn't.

  11. I just got the new iPhone, which is my first iPhone. Neither my old Motorola smart phone or the $9 Go Phone from WalMart have any trouble with service in the building at work, but I've had constant trouble with the iPhone so far. The iPhone frequently loses it's signal completely in areas that the other phones always had a minimum of 3 bars and usually full service.

Just curious if others have seen anything similar. Plan on calling customer service in the morning.

  12. My paramedic partner on the ambulance is quite an attractive young lady. We picked up an older gentleman and as she leaned close over his midsection to start an IV on the opposite arm he said "While you're down there..." My partner was a little surprised at the heartiness of the guffaw that came out of me when he said it. I've been smiling about it for a week or so now.

Made me think of you buddy. Hope you're given it hell wherever you are!

  13. I want the young lady I just started seeing to change her mind about taking a job offer that will require her to move far away. First person in more than 10 years I've met and really "clicked" with. Applied for the job long ago and gave up on hearing. News just came last week after meeting each other a little over a month ago. >:(:(

  14. Y'all might think this is crazy, but try it before you decide. Banana wrapped in bacon is pretty freakin tasty. Cook the bacon most of the way through but still very pliable. Then wrap it around banana and heat until the bacon completes cooking and the banana is warmed all the way through. Mmmmm....delicious!

  15. Working today, thankfully earning double time. Outdoor drunken holidays tend to bring out some different 911 calls than we normally get, so it's a nice change of pace. We've been hammered the last few days as the crazies started coming into town.

Here in Texas, it's brisket, slow cooked... for hours, over a mesquite fire. Some will use a rub of various spices and when done, should show a good 'salt line'. Barbecue sauce is served on the side.

    Chuck

Well said, slow smoked with a secret rub and better not have any sauce anywhere near the meat. The sauce is for mopping up with the white bread if you already sopped up all the meat drippings.

  17. Depends...on a sandwich it has to be nice and crispy, preferably thin. As a side, gotta be thick cut and not too crispy. Mmmm....bacon.

Oakridge Smokehouse in Schulenburg, TX. One of the best breakfast buffets I've ever been too, mainly because of the bacon.

  18. I won't enter as I'm not doing any jumping these days but thought I'd pass this photo on to the group. This is from a few years back. I passed this view almost every day and finally one day decided to turn around and go get my camera so I could get a picture. The pic is Western Lake in Grayton Beach, FL, taken from 30-A.
