    Ok, I replaced the tye-dye with the yellow and purple. Is this better? I was thinking about the pop top and what if I lost it. So are you saying the purple will fade more or the yellow?

  4. Oh, gee, guess I'm a geek... I kinda like the tye-dye. :P;) But actually, the only reason I put it on there is cuz it's a free option this month.

    Ok, its too busy? Geez, and I thought I wasn't using enough colors! ;) So should I get rid of the blue parts? What color is it U think won't age well? Are there objections to the purple/yellow combination? I think white looks nice with purple, but I didn't want to get white cuz it'll get dirty fast.

  5. Ok, opinions please. There is one pic of my original design and then some alternatives (different pinstriping and tie-dye location)

    I had no idea what to pick, there are so many options to choose! I'm still not sure I will like this on the actual rig. I just know I love purple and yellow.

    You can be honest. Does this work?

  6. I believe he was there because his helicopter landed on the SDC field and then he was taken to some function in the nearby town. He visited with the jumpers afterwards before he left. (I was thinking, too, that a dz wasn't the best choice for a campaign stop. ;))

    I asked him if he wanted to jump, but he wasn't interested. He just watched some tandem vids and posed for pics with us instead.

    Another great weekend at SDC! Damn, I'm really loving this October weather so far! B|

    Had an awesome time jumping with SDC Cohesion. Thanks especially to Mark for all the coaching and organizing. I hope you guys kick butt at Nationals!!B|

    Did a sweet hybrid for Sara's 100th. Some of those FFers couldn't get in, but it was still a cool dive. Then did my beer 10-way for Jerry's 300th! It didn't quite get built, but I was in my slot!! B|

    I stood up all but one of my landings this weekend, damn it was nice to land on my feet! :)
    ...And to top it all off, I finally got my B!! Took the test and got everything all signed off, yippee!!

    Oh, and the 1 is one meeting with the governer! His heli landed at SDC and he hung out for bit to chat with us. Somehow I ended up with his arm around me front & center for the photos. Oh well, that was kinda cool.

    All in all a pretty damn sweet weekend. B|

    Yep, this is where I got the idea from. But then I missed the TF boogie, so I decided to do it myself for my 100th. :)

    A great day at SDC!! :)
    Got only 4 jumps in due to only having 1 Otter and 175 tandems. :S I know they need the revenue from the tandems, but why not schedule the big groups when both Otters are here?
    Anyway, had some fun on my 4 dives. Couldn't manage to not funnel the exits, though. Oh well, it's all good. :)

    Finally some decent weather at SDC!! Did some fun 6-ways and 4-ways this weekend. Nailed a couple of exits, and flew some good patterns, too.
    Beer owed for my first mock-up funnel. Geez, what a dweeb. :S Oh, also beer owed for my first visit to the bonfire! (I will bring a chair next time.) :)

  14. Ah yes, it can be done, with the right equipment. But I already have a portable HD so was hoping it could be done with that. Oh well. I guess I will have to invest in one of those PVRs.

  15. Aw, bummer. So it's not that easy. I guess I figured that with a digital video camera, you just have an AVI file that you can copy. Doesn't it just create an AVI (or MPEG or whatever) file? So when you put it on your laptop, don't you just copy the file? So then the problem is that the camera itself can't push the file, so you need a way to pull it?

  16. Hi camera people,

    I was wondering if it's possible to download video from a camera directly to one of these portable drives, without a computer. Can the camera "push" the video to the drive, or do I have to have a computer that captures from the camera and stores it to the drive?

    I'm just wondering if I could use one of these at the dz to get a copy of my video on the spot. Right now it sucks because they just quickly put it on a vhs tape, and I end up capturing it to my pc at home. I'd really like to keep it in digital format.

  18. I know many jumpers have had broken femurs from bad landings. I am just curious, though -- when you break your femur, do you usually also break your tibia or fibula? I would think if you hit the ground hard, you'd break those before the femur, but everyone always talks about someone pounding in and breaking a femur. Is it possible to only break that and not the lower bones?

    Can someone explain this to me?
