  1. thanks and thanks chuck i understand your point how much rear riser input will the crossfire 2 tolerate?? a freind of mine jumps a vision and now a mamba 117 and he can rear riser to plane out and to extend the swoop ect.. he jumped a 105 viper or the old space the predesesor to the cobalt and it high speed stalled him on his ass bone. one guy said hey that canopy doest tolerate alot of rear riser input so hows the crossfire 2 on rear riser input granted i dont pull th hell out of them
  2. cool thanks i was talking about just toggle turns thanks for the advice though
  3. i have flown both demos but the crossfire 2 turns quicker then the crossfire 1. why is that and does the the crossfire2 turn like a stileto? or diablo? i didnt think so but what about when you start to load them. if so i will get the slower turning crossfire 1 thank you
  4. hell i have 270 openings all the time on this typhoon i am jumping i let it do itsthing like a vision they seem to spin on opening hard. i understand the rage is a different canopy but it looks pretty close to the crossfire 2 and i like that about it if it flys bigger great and if it has flare down to your toes great. i just want to know how they compare.
  5. i dont mean to complain i love input but i am trying to figure this out. i have demo - crossfire 2 169 and 149 crossfire 1 - 159, 149, 139, 129, vision - 150, 140 jedi -136 cobalt 135, nitron 150 - 135 i have jumped smaller canpoies but i am not looking into that size range i am sticking to 150 - 130 range. i thought the katana and mamba were too twitchy for me. all those canopies i was sold on a crossfire 1 or 2 then i found out about the rage canopy and i want to know how it compares. i jump these canopies but i cant fill out a complete report on them like some of you can. thats why i ask my question hopefully that gives some of you a basis tounderstand my questions.
  6. rage of flight concepts looks like a crossfire 2 any opinions on this. the rage looks like a nice canopy anyone have any experince on it. i may buy one of those and not the crossfire
  7. ok cool why did it feel better can you expand on that??? thank you
  8. cool thanks let me know i was under the impression that the 1 was slower, dived less, had less glide, and about the same flare power then the 2 the 2 is turns faster more twitchy which i dont like. but i am looking for one or the other right now
  9. if a Crossfire 1 is loaded 1.6 and a crossfire 2 is loaded also a 1.6 given identical conditions weather winds the same pilot and say doing a 270 at the best altitute. hypothetical speaking i know you would start your 270 higher on the crossfire 2 i understand it dives longer. i am not sure if the question can be answered but given all things being the same how much more would the crossfire 2 out perform the crossfire 1??? why do people keep their crossfire 1's when they demo the crossfire 2/ what would be the advantage of staying on a crossfire 1. thanks much to who ever helps me out on this one c
  10. thanks everyone ill take the coach coarsenow and the aff in january thanks everyone for their advice very helpful
  11. if i got a coach rating say a year ago i would have not used it like several others at my dz. not many opportunities to do any official coaching nor teaching anyof the sim for the aff instructors. Now unofficial coaching new jumpers at the dz is a full time job ( kidding ) and just going jumping with younger jumpers and saying whhat do you want to work on ect... and also constantly unofficaly caoching jumpers on landing ect.. so the coach rating isnt very useful. so this has been a long time commming to me. Yes the ultimate goal is to be an AFF-I instructor, that is the desired out come. So the implication i just want my rating isnt not on my mind at all. I first need to pass the rating to be an instructor. my instructor ability and development does not end at the end of the course, it is just the begining. so my education and self improvement doesnt stop when iget my rating it begins. the rating would establish the min needed to teach others, i wouldnt stop there nor could i. we all have to start somewhere and al have to have an objective or goal. mine is aff-I instructor. it is not pride - its empowerment, to teach people and to take care of them. can anyone answer some of my other concearns?
  12. I am signing up for the Coach course, Pre-Aff, and Aff-i. all in a row. My question is if you do that i heard tthat the dourse director will make the entire course dedicated to AFF-I. A friend of mine took a coach course from some one else then did the aff-i. he failed the course. Years later he took the coach, pre and aff course and he said from day one till the end it was all for the aff-I he said it was like a tend day aff-i course instead of a 5 day course. Is this a good idea get it all at once keep it in your mind fresh and stay in that learning mode or is it best to take a break. Also any tips on covering the ground school prep? do i have to memorize something and teach a whole block of instruction??? any tips with dealing with evaluators how to make them happy? I have another friend that says he passed the course but a few didnt who he jumps with. he said they are better jumpers then him but their evaluators can make or break you. thats scary to me. i have a side mount freefly camera set up can i fly it during the course and use it as a debrief for my evaluators???? thank you for all who have helped me out with this. The more prepared I am, the more pre knowledge i have, and the more i understand the course, will allow me to learn more form the course and come out of it a beter instructor.
  13. thanks you guys gave me much i going to have my son a little freefly monster back fly and back slide i guess i can practice working on him. chasing him around ect.. how exactly do you flip someone over??? what technique should i practice. how should i practice the spin stop also. i will do some side body exits with my son ect... i really dont have any evaluators at the dz i can work with. i also want to study hard what material should i study the most i dont want to over study anything thanks everyone. i am not say worrried about the course if i dont pass now i will attend again i just want to be good for the students so if i pass th course then i will be good for the students.
  14. ok i have 1 month to prepare for the Aff-I course. what should i be reading? what should i be practicing? and what else can i do so I can pass the course? Ihope to pass the courrse but become a good instructor for my students. i have the IRM and SIM. Please anyone give me a hand? i am nervous about how to flip a student on there back over and some of those drills and skills, i can fly well but can i fly the way the instructors want and need me to? can i do it there way? I am getting more rest and taking lots of ginko. lol seriously anyone give any recomondations. I have the coach rating allready. thanks
  15. we dub through svideo and av cables through a sima board and then to a dvd burner. my hc 40 only serves asa a video flying camera the remote control doesnt work its useless for dubbing so i have another camcorder a jvc that i will use for dubbing. ill take the tape out of the hc 40 and put it into the jvc and dub that way. they both have 680,000 Pixel CCD but the hc 40 has a 1/5 imager and the jvc a 1/6 will there be a difference? will i loose quality in image on the dvd????
  16. what about dubbing through video cables and s video like for a sima dubbing machine????
  17. question is say i record with a hc42 or hc 96 ( higher end camcorder ) then i take that tape and then dub it using like an hc20 or pc109. will i loose the great image quality from the hc40 or 96 and it will give me the quality of the camera dubbbing it?? ir is the camera dubbing irrelavent and the quality from the recorder camera remains?? let me know and thatnk you
  18. hey creative video very good job what soft ware was that avid? or final cut pro???? cool video and someone can fly there ass off that is some great video flying. wish i could flythat good. some of the transitions are a bit 60's ish a retro feel but hey its all creative cools style
  19. this flys well i think its a copy of the sillohete by pd it seems to be zp top skin and f111 bottom skin it opens and packs like a dream it flys good but then the question you wouldnt want to load these things out to much. the canada web site is terrible for the details of the typhoon this is what they say The TYPHOON has been designed for relative work enthusiasts wanting the ultimate canopy with incredible speed and excellent performance. When using this canopy you will experience a soft opening, flat gliding, light toggle pressure, extremely fast and easy to land all in one small pack volume. The TYPHOON is made with zero porosity fabric (more efficient airfoil), tapered wing design, spectra lines, double cross porting, kill line sliders, and span wise reinforcement. This canopy is compatible with our GENESIS harness/container.
  20. anyone know anything about a typhoon canopy made in canada. for its size it seems pretty fast. is it a sabre 2 clone ?? but it seems faster even know the aspect ration seems the same. any info on this canopy and also it flares very deep more flare then a sabre 2 just my opinion. anyone know any different??
  21. dude buy priemer its not that hard sure there is a learning curve but movie maker sucks so bad premier is user friendly its not hard to edit to do all the bells and whistles sure thats hard but movie maker is a joke ill tell you vegas by sony is a great program also check into that
  22. its funny its not the whole lens it is a small circle on the tv thats cloudy happens after i exit and around say 8000 ft thats when it starts. then it goes away on the ground. so is it the camera lens?? or the inside of the .5 wife angle?? do i need to tape it up more then i do???? i wish i knew which lens is fogging
  23. i have a round lightly cloudy foggy circle in the center of my videos the last 5 i have done. Florida has high humidity right, but in 2 years i havent had this problem. i have a hc 40 sony and a .5 kenco wide angle i tape up all over with gafers tape anny sugestions??? using an anti fog or a seal around the lens or what??? getting that close up of the tandem video and its foggy sucks. now i know when i open at 3000 it happens on the outside but, i wipe that off thanks for the input
  24. ok if one leans forward in the harness like i do on landing does that effect the flight of the canopy opposed to leaning way back in the harness like some do also and what about just being neutral in the harness. i have no idea why i lean forward in the harness i guess its just me. just wondering what that does good bad or what to the glide, flight, speed, flare, riser and togle pressure. anyone indulging me i realy appreciate it. c
