  1. What are the best places to jump in the central florida area during the week? Also what places are best on weekends? I am planning a trip and am wanting to jump on a weekday and a weekend. I want to get as many jumps as possible while I am there. Thinking about sebastian, titusville, and z-hills as the main options. Don't want to waste a day at one to get three dives when I could've went to another and got ten. Any advice would be great. THanks
  2. So who are some reputable sites to buy a camera from? I am interested in eventually learning to film tandems. I would be only using now for our fun jumps. So what are the pitfalls of jumping with a small top mounted camera with a helmet that has a cutaway system? Thanx for response!
  3. So I want to start flying with a camera and have basically decided to go with a sony cx100. First question is I found it online for $299 from http://www.86photovideo.com/products.asp?product_id=19584 Does anyone have any experience with this site as this is WAY cheaper than anyone else. Also not to get to technical but what would be a good somehwat all purpose lens be. Gonna be learning to video tandems and also be inside filming for freefly and rw. As a new camera flyer would the raynox 3032 be a good place to start? Thanx for any help in advance really appreciate it. BLues justin
  4. I am not a rigger and have only seen my current rig opened twice. I know that the pocket that was in my rig did not allow for the cables to come out without bending them at about a ninety. The pocket I got with my vigil II has holes where they need to be so this does not happen. Maybe I got different pockets or something not sure. I just know that my set-up seemed a little off.
  5. I will not be able to take a pic anytime soon as I am just having sunrise repack my reserve while it is there. It would probably be ok but for the measly amount of money it cost's to replace I am thinking it is not a bad call. Again was just curious as to what others have thought about there situation with this. I was curious as to what riggers have thought. And ones that have actually seen a vigil pocket at more than an arm's length beacuse there is a difference.
  6. There is a difference between pockets. The vigil pocket has a hole in both corners versus just the one for the cypress. The reason myself and my rigger wanted it changed was the way the vigil cables come out. They are not able to flex coming right out of the controller box like the cypress. They are almost like the end of cord that you would plug into your electric guitar instead of a cord that is coming out of an appliance that is flexible right away. The pockets are the same size and fit the same. It is the fact that you have to really bend on the cable to make it work.. Yes it does work but really puts alot of strain on the connections.
  7. I just sent in my wings to have the cypress pocket exchanged for the vigil pocket. I used the cypress pocket with my vigil II for a year now. Just figured it would be better to have the right one in there. I was wandering if others are doing this or if anyone has noticed any problems using the cypress pocket with the vigil II.
  8. My question is to those who have the multi-suit. What do you think of this set-up. Does it perform as well as a one-piece? Does it stay together during all forms of flying? Would you stay with this two-piece set-up or go back to one-piece? Any help/advice would be great as I have a new pair of freefly cargo pants coming and was thinking about the jacket? Does the jacket improve body flight versus a long sleeve shirt or something along those lines. Is it worth it to complete the suit? And yes I searched!!!!!!!!
  9. Already posted this in another thread but here is my new wings w-8. Rig has red thread throughout which is hard to see in pics. It also doesn't look grainey as in the pics nice and SMOOTH!
  10. I am completely into being safe and have the upmost respect for people trying to help others be safe as well. I also have respect for the others that have died in this sport so I can learn what not to do. I don't push my boundaries at all or the suggested boundaries set by much more experienced pilots. What I meant by that post with minimal expression is that seek advice and stay within your own boundaries. People know themselves better than anyone. I am confident in flying a slightly higher windloading than some suggest. And this has been suggested a accepatable wingloading by people I jump with as they know my piloting skills and the conditions at our dz. But like I said be safe and don't do dumb things. Such as go past your abilities which some do and get hurt. Sometimes giving robot like advice to thrill seekers doesn't jive. It didn't for me at all. So maybe talking to people like a real person would help and that is exactly what just happened. Wow doesn't that feel good to be a human being.
  11. Also want to add that betting on people bouncing is the most sick SHIT I have ever heard. KARMA!!
  12. I think that a 1.333 wingloading is great. Mine is 1.5 at 92 jumps. I love it! Although I haven't forgot that skydiving is a EXTREME SPORT! I would be more concerned jumping with the conservatives on here with thousands of jumps that go by a chart than I would with someone that is confident in there skills themselves. Don't forget what you have inside and go have fun. PEACE! Just don't be dumb. It is simple.
  13. I just got a new wings vision, new vigil 2, never jumped only packed four times pd 143, and less than 100 jumps sabre 2 150. Can't jump for a couple months beacuse I live in North Dakota. Stashed rig in closet in basement so it can't torture me. here it is!! I LOVE IT
  14. Hello I am looking at getting a half shell protec helmet for the upcoming season. I was wandering if anyone has any experience putting a audible in one of these. Are there external audibles or can you mount a solo dytter somewhere in there other than next to your ear. Does it absoloutely have to be next to your ear or if mounted somewhere else can you hear it. I don't currently jump with a dytter and don't think I need it blaring in my ear just loud enough to give heads up. Any experienced advice is greatly appreciated.
  15. I also have to mention that my rigger is a super pimp. with a one hour notice he had me over and assembled everything within a couple hours. Thanx "LAWN DART"!!!!
  16. Thanx I like it alot. It is a little darker in person than the pics show. The main is navy blue, white, and jade.
  17. I believe it was the end of october so you should have another month of wait possibly.
  18. I just got my new system via the ups/fed ex man. I didn't even know my container was done and presto it show's up the same day my main and vigil do. Anyway's here it is. Wings(w8) - sabre2150 - pd143 - vigil 2. Vigil's are about three times heavier than a cypress if you were wondering. Options are mini rings and risers(24") - spacer foam - pinstripes - insert in cutaway handle so is basically a fat daddy - low profile hard reserve - hook knife in mudflap - rsl. This is gonna be fun packing a almost new sabre2 into a new container. let the fun begin. P.S. I live in north dakota and will have to stare at this for at least two month's before I can jump it.
  19. I have searched for reviews on the fusion as well as all the reviews on safire and sabre (2's). There is alot of information to absorb. I was wandering from people who have flown these canopies if there is really that much difference between Fusion and the others in that class(Sabre2,safire2,pilot). With the low cost of a fusion I am really considering this for my next canopy. Not gonna be changing for quite awhile so resale issues are not a concern. I like aggresive flying up high and fun safe landings. I also realize demoing is a good resource but since it is 20 below zero here today I thought this would be a good start. Thanx in advance for any helpful advice and happy new year!
  20. Was wandering if anyone could share with me there opinions on pros and cons of these two canopies. I am interested in both and would appreciate advice from those that have flown both. Leaning towards saffire but want to make educated purchase. Thanx in advance. BLues
  21. Gonna order a new container soon and gonna get a wings. I have had a regular wings and loved it. Thinking about a vision. Since they have been out a while now was wandering from people that have had both if they prefer vision over normal wings and what exactly is better about vision riser cover situation. more material or better cut or what. Any opinions to digest would be highly appreciated. THANX AND BLUES
