  1. I hadn't thought much of the hundred things lately, until two approx. 24 year old, cute, skinny twins showed up at the bar I was working.. "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  2. according to Wikipedia, a Swiss company is getting the first of the new models. too bad they don't seem to be in the skydiving business. Their fleet looks quite impressive, though. fleet "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  3. these russians are all crazy.. but they sure know how to skydive. just came back from kolomna.. and I have to say the place rocks. Maybe the best (and definitely the biggest) dropzone in europe. Lots of planes, smooth operation, friendly and helpful people, wild parties.. all you need. not to mention the hottest women you'll ever see on a dropzone . thanks for an awesome time in the great wild east.. I'll definitely come back. "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  4. then take another 12 months off to go hang out at the place(s) you liked most on your first trip. "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  5. wow.. that box looks awesome. what was the reason to move the camera that far away from the helmet? There's quite some gap between the lens and the helmet. Does the hypeye pro plug take up that much space, or is it something else, I'm not an expert in box building, just curious. "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  6. Ok I see the non-boringness there. I've considered doing something in that direction, before. I had a chance to look into one or two 'social' jobs so far and it was very interesting. Would require going back to uni for quite a few years, though. And I have no idea if I had the talent and nerve for that kind of work. Specially the talent. "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  7. Squeak: so what exact form of attitude adjusting are you doing, then? Beerlight: I'm starting to save up for my helicopter license, now. I'm sure most jobs get boring after a while. But at least they're not boring right away (like mine). Plus, what's wrong wanting one of those exceptions? After all, we're spending a big part of our (awake) life with it.. "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  8. thank you for the hints. I've always been suspicious about hints from books but maybe I can read it at work.. that would at least make the time pass faster. networking and asking people is a great idea.. unless you happen to be surrounded by people who's jobs are even more boring than yours It ain't too urgent. Just thought maybe someone here's doing something really interesting? "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  9. I've been rolling this around in my head (yeah plenty of space up there ) for over a year now and no useful results have come up. My current job is boring (really really boring) and I need a new one. But not the same business, or industry, which makes it quite difficult. How does one find out what job to look for if it should be anything other than what he's been doing so far? cheers.. "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  10. Thank you for your reply. I'm really looking forward to coming to Russia.. currently waiting for the visa to arrive (should be in the next days). I hear there's a gear shop on the DZ. Do you know how I can contact the people from the shop? I wanted to ask them if they sell wide angle lenses for video cams.. "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  11. You must've had very bad luck then. Maybe you should try a 5 star place that doesn't serve food in paper bags, next time. But you'll have to get out of your car to order there. Some French dishes indeed take getting used to (guess that's what makes it so famous) but if you find the right places, you can actually "live like god in France". If you want common food (pizza, pasta, gelati) that tastes great, Italy's the place to go. Anyway.. hope you'll be luckier next time. In the worst case, stick to baguette and cheese.. and wine. "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  12. so with a paper 0.1 mm thick, it's 112 million kilometers. that's about as far as from here to the sun. back in 5th grade, I found that quite jaw-dropping.. "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  13. nope. pretty far off, actually. any other guesses? "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  14. something for the brains here.. if you could fold it 50 times.. how thick would your paper get? "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
  15. I was thinking of spending a few weeks in Aerograd Kolomna (Russia) this august. My only concern so far, they're hosting the RW nationals from august 18-24. In the best case that means more jumps, more parties, etc. In the worst it means hardly any jumps for funjumpers because the planes are busy with competition loads. I think that really depends on the DZ and how it's organized. So.. has anyone been in Kolomna during a competition, probably even as a non-competitor? Would be great to get a hint or two what to expect.. "He tried to kill me! He tried to f***ing kill me!"
