  1. Hey all. I'm just coming off student status and will be looking for my first rig soon. I've been told the best way to figure out what to buy is to jump different types of gear, different canopies, containers and such. But my problem is the gear I've been jumping has been customized with a left-hand BOC. I have Cerebral Palsy and cannot pull a BOC with my right hand. Is there a way that I can still demo regular gear? I thought of changing the closing sequence and routing the bridle to the left like I've been doing, but just hold onto the PC, and do a hop'n' pop. Would that work? Is there an easier way to do this?? Thanks, Skydude P. S. I'm currently flying a Tutor-288. PULL!! or DIE!!
  2. Hey All. I'm training for my Solo Certificate, and my "A" CoP, and I know that eventually I will need to purchase all of the PIMs. Does anyone know of a site that I can order them online? I've been told they should be available at my DZ, but I'd like to do some studying since it might be a while before I can jump again. Thanks, Skydude
  3. Hi all, I asked my DZO this and he wasn't quite sure, so he suggested I try this. I'm a student and I fly a Tutor-288, but I wondered if there is a formula for proper loading of your canopy? I know it depends on body weight, canopy size and type, but I thought there was a way to calculate the optimum loading for different canopies. Thanks, Skydude
  4. My dropzone moved over an hour away, and I don't have my own car. Plus I was injured early in the season last year, and was out for almost a whole year. PULL!! or DIE!!
  5. Hi all, I'm having trouble fixing a stabilty problem. I just started doing 15 second delays and I can't seem to stay stable. My JM has told me that I am doing left and right spins, and I can feel them. But I have done everything I can think of to fix it, and do not know what else to do. My JM has offered to film my next jump, but I've been told by others that this is a bad idea. Any insight on this as a solution? Or other suggestions to stop it? PULL!! or DIE!!
  6. I don't think concussions are very common in skydiving, although they do happen. I had a hard landing on my 10th jump, and didn't realize what it was until a few days later. My doctor said nothing about whether I should stop jumping, but of course, this was under a round T-10. I think there is a much slimmer chance of serious head injury under a square, as long as you are very careful. Jump Safe Skydude
  7. Hi everyone, I've been jumping for a while now and I've been trained a certain way. I just want to get some other opinions. What is the best emergency procedure for a pilot chute in tow? Is a cutaway necessary? Blue Skies, Adam G. PULL!! or DIE!!
  8. I'm still a student and I hated wearing a helmet too, until I came in backwards and smashed my head on the ground. I had a concussion for 3 weeks. Imagine what my head would have looked like without it. Jump Safe, Adam G. PULL!! or DIE!!
  9. Hi Everyone, Is there anyone out there who pulls left-handed? I've been jumping with Cerebral Palsy for almost 3 years, and I'm not comfortable pulling right handed. Is there another way to jump without buying my own gear and having it customized? Blue Skies, Adam G. PULL!! or DIE!!
