  1. we have just dated a few times and he behave as if he really loves me, he calls me, he wants to meet me all the time, gives me presents, plan the future and so on. I just want to learn to know him and see if I like him. But it's difficult when he is so pushy. Have it happend to you with a guy/girl you wanted to date? I'm not sure what to do about the situation.
  2. Hi! Does anyone know buddhists view on relationship, sex and marrige? what is the role of women buddhism relationships? I'm interested in general culture differences.
  3. If one or more of my lines are broken because of a hard opening, I would cutaway because of the risk that there might be more damage that I can´t see at the moment. I.e. a tear, more lines that are almost broken. If one or more of my lines is broken because someone cut it, like on a crw-dive, I would consider landning my main. But it depends on which lines and if I think it will affect the flight.
  4. Are pilotchutes the same size for pull outs and throw aways?
  5. I´ve read in Poynters about some tests on pull forces- how much men and women in the test group were able to pull. They were done in the 78-79, 78 and -83. Where can I find more information about those tests? Are there any newer tests made?
  6. Sometimes whuffos tell me that they have heard people survived full speed malfunctions on the reserve. Does anyone know of a situation where that actually has happened?

    gun choice

I want a gun for self-defense. But what kind of gun would be the best for me? What do I have to think about when choosing a gun?
  10. You don´t have to prioritize. Why just not stop the skydive a little higher if you need extra time to find out which direction to track? Break off isn´t the time to look which direction to track. Or as I have seen some freeflyer do: start looking where their buddies are. This has to be done before. Take the time you need to prepare for a safe break off.
  11. Wait, there was more than one opening high-thread... maybe I got it right now. I guess you just mean that there are two parts of the separation between two groups?: Did I get this right airplane speed=x feet/second winds at exit altitude=y feet/second winds at opening altitude=z feet/second seconds between groups=t seconds A. Freefall separation: The distance from when I exit to the next person exits. If flying with headwind on jump run I get x-y feet freefall separation each second the person after me waits. A = (x-y)*t B. Under canopy separation: The distance I move towards or away from the other person under canopy while she is still in freefall. If person after me waited t seconds, I have t seconds where I´ll make the distance A longer or shorter. B= z*t, if the wind has the same direction B=-z*t, if the wind has the opposite direction A+B = horizontal distance between canopies when both of us have opened - if I flew my canopy perpendicular to the line of flight until she opened, if we didn´t track and if we had the same freefall time. Did I get it right?? Or did I still miss something?
  12. I thought that was an other kind of discussion. Jumpers pulling higher compared to other jumpers without planning it and flying into line of flight. On a normal jump you pull at the same height and fly off line of flight. Two different things. Maybe there was a point somewhere in that thread that explained what i didn´t understand but I couldn´t find it.
  13. why do the wind at opening altitude matter?
  14. Girls (and guys that don´t weight much) have to be extra careful when they try crew: It´s always the same: Experienced crw-jumpers want to fly their regular small canopies they are most used to. Therefore they try to make the newbie jump a far too small canopy, and maybe also with lead. If you don´t jump the small canopy, you can´t jump with them and they will think you are stupid. I think it´s important for new crw-jumpers to be aware of this attitude and be prepared to say no if they get invited to such jumps, even if the crw-jumpers try to say 'it´s ok'. In crw, landing out is rather common. When landing out, lead is not so nice... And not having a too small canopy either. Maybe you want to downsize one day. But doing that on a crw-canopy with bad landing characteristic isn´t the right way. If you do a bunch of crew-jumps you´re going to land out sooner or later - you don´t want your crw-canopy to be smaller than the normal canopies you jump and land on the dropzone landing area! CRW is really cool, it´s great fun, but jump a canopy size you are used too!!
  15. I´ve seen a scary canopy collapse at low altitude on a manta with pilot chute in front. For her it became a big problem. Even if most canopies flies okey anyway, it´s something that might turn into a dangerous situation. So it´s a good idea to look for something that reduces the risk of having the pilot chute in front.
