  1. Very cool stuff!! Looks like some serious fun is being had Whats the music btw? its awesome
  2. What was that one annoying thing you just couldn't get right? How did you eventually fix the problem? For me it was forward movement in a sit. I tried pushing my hips forward, tried pushing my back and shoulders into the wind, tried pointing my toes. Nothing seemed to work every time for me. Sometimes I would get it right without even knowing exactly what I was doing,...then come next jump I wouldn't be able to move an inch forward again. Ive now fixed the problem with a combination of going into a bit of a stand and then pushing my back backwards. Ive still got a problem of not being able to fall down the tube while in hd but im getting better. Will have to report back on that one in a few weeks (months? years?) when I get it right. Have any of you had one particular thing which you just couldn't get right, and then all of a sudden a light switch was turned on and voila...problem solved!
  3. Its true what you said about getting too rigid when concentrating on the legs, ive been spending most of my skydives trying to perfect my leg position instead of just feeling the air. Ill organize some 2ways this weekend and see what happens.
  4. Thanks for the reply. Ill definitly try relaxing more next weekend and will play more with the movement of my hips. Everything seems to make sense while sitflying but im still coming to terms with different inputs while in hd. Knowing what leg, hip, arm input etc will do is still a bit unclear at times. So with that said,...while my knees are bent slightly (ie: moving forward), which way should I move my hips in order to counter the legs and just fall straight down? Should my hips go forward or back? cheers
  5. Hi all, Most of my skydiving problems are solved by searching though the forums, but I haven't found many cases of people having the same problem as what im having. Ive asked around my dropzone and it appears that most people seem to backslide when first learning head down. My problem is that I cant stop moving forward. Ive done 1 HD coach jump (I plan to do more this weekend) and its clear on the video that my legs are bent at the knees. Since then ive been focusing on trying to stop my legs from bending but nothing seems to work. I am able to look at my legs while head down without going unstable and its clear that my knees are bent. The problem seems to get worse the wider I spread my legs. Ive tried practicing the position on the ground and everything seems perfect but for some reason i cant mimic that position with my legs in the sky. It seems that the wider I spread my legs, the more my knees bend Are there any tips you can offer for this problem? Anything with my legs or feet that i may not be doing properly? thanks, chow
  6. Yeah, nice one freakydiver, ill try that That should fix all my problems.
  7. Thanks for the advice. It seems that its all mostly to do with the relative wind and trying to fly your body depending on where that wind is. My main problem is, as i said, pushing my legs down. But if I change my body and therefore where the wind hits me, hopefully it wont be such an effort to get my legs extended. edit: Should there be much difference my exit position if its a solo or a 2way? Its been said that on a 2 way exit we are often fighting for the same air and that affects the exit. This makes sense to me and ive often felt it harder to keep stable and on heading when im doing a 2way exit as opposed to a solo. ?? Cheers, B
  8. Hi everyone, First of all, i've been reading these forums for a couple years but have never posted,...so hello. Well, my problem is that I usually take a while to get into a good sit (and ready to do stuff). Its just a matter of a couple seconds but thats valuable working time thats getting lost on every jump. We use a Pilatus Porter at my DZ. When I exit the plane with my back to the prop I usually end up with my knees up at my chest in quite a tight ball, with my arms out. Im usually stable on exit, except that it takes a while to then push my legs down and 'sit up' into a more upright position. Ive seen various video's where people exit and they are immediatly in the sit postion that they normally fly with. I cant seem to exit any other way than in a tight ball (with arms out) and then push up into a sit/stand once ive gone down the slide. Since I am quite light I usually try to fly in more of a stand or I cant keep up with people. Ive hear that leaning forward helps since the relative wind coming from behind is what pushes you more onto your back while going down the slide. Also,...i haven't done many sit exits while facing the prop, is that quite different? Would you then essentially do the opposite and lean backwards as you exit to stay upright? Any advice here would be great. Cheers, Brendon
