Don't worry, I'll make allowances for you.
I agree with what phillykev said and was replying to the part of your post that related to the gay/jewish rally question rather than the whole heaven/hell/forgiveness side of things.
Now that I think about it my reply was slightly out of context but the point still stands.Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
QuoteJudaism is an ethnicity as well as a religion. Homosexuality is a choice in lifestyle.
That could be read as suggesting that people of jewish background are biologically predisposed to follow the jewish religion yet homosexuals merely choose to be homosexual.
Most people would reckon that to be the other way round.Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
QuoteA city council that doesn't trust it's law-abiding citizens to own guns, is one that is certainly unworthy of their positions, and deserve to be thrown out.
So apart from the next round of elections how would they throw out the city council?Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

QuoteSalvation is gained only by the grace of God through faith in his son Jesus Christ. Not accepting Jesus as your personal lord and savior and repenting of your sin is what will land you in hell ultimately.
1000AD right, a whole millenium of christianity. You happen to live in the americas and have never heard of Jesus. Doesn't that make you a bit buggered?Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
QuoteSounds a lot like you want some Stalin purges to clear away some of the religious "whackos" then to rewrite the constitution to revoke the freedom of speech to religions then revoke the freedom of religion to all of those that do not believe exactly as you believe.
I didn't read it like that. What I read was more "why do these people feel the need to protest?" Not suggesting that they had no right to protest.
I could look at your post and decide that you wanted to stop anyone from bashing religious protestors by some internet speech controls.
Someone could read my post and think that I wanted to do the same thing to you to stop you complaining about people who complain about people complaining.
Its a line of logic that could just run and run.Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

QuoteIf I remember correctly, there was pretty uniform agreement about the existence of WMD in Iraq.
Hans Blix might disagree with you there.Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
QuoteChristians aren’t trying to turn the public against homosexuals. That is a misconception. They’re trying to turn the public against homosexuality. We DO think it is an immoral lifestyle and speak out against it but that in no way means that we dislike the homosexual person.
Isn't that like saying we don't like muggings but we'll buy the mugger a beer any day?Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
QuoteBTW just because it may serve a person who wants so desperately to be president, doesn't mean we have to respect a decision to spend such an outrageous and wasteful amount of money on a haircut, suit, shoes, etc.
Together with his wife the guy's worth what, a billion give or take? Whats more wasteful, having that money sit in an offshore account or getting it back in circulation?Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
Thats not so much church in politics as church in science, same as all the cloning and GM debates and such like. Either way I'd be much happier if they stuck to christenings, weddings and the last rites and didn't try to impose their moral code on scientific progress and by extension, me.Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
Yep, the doctors only take them out when you don't need them any more. I've never really understood why people wouldn't want their organs used, there are usually huge waiting lists.
I read somewhere recently that Spain has an opt out rather than opt in organ donation scheme, sounds like a good idea.Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

QuoteIt seems that you want to discuss fiction as fact, based on your factless statements about the current jewish state, and its formation.
Sad that you note them as been given territory right after they proclaimed independence, and having to wage war, by themselves against 4 powerful armies back in 1948.
The given territory was a reference to an earlier post, going back pre ww2. I am aware of the fight for independance (now which country was the first to recognize the irsraeli state?) and funnily enough it doesn't give Israel many extra points in my book.
As for current affairs you can't deny that Sharon is a very right wing leader and certainly not shy with military force. Surely his actions can only have strengthened Hamas' supporters?Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
QuoteBoth the ProTrack and Neptune deal only in vertical speeds because all they can measure is air pressure and how quickly it's changing.
Thats static pressure only and not dynamic right?
Edit: Of course it's not dynamic it's inside a bloody helmet. I should think these things through first.Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
OK thanks, I get it now.
I'd kinda assumed that double mals and canopy collisions were already included in what you posted.Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
QuoteTo sum up ~40% (that get killed) of jumpers under 200 skydives will die by not getting a functioning parachute above their head at pull time; and ~20 % will die after getting a functioning canopy above their head.
So 40% die without a viable canopy and 20% with a viable canopy. How do the other 40% die? I might be being a bit thick here but I can't see where the rest of those fatalities come from.
Could you post the source of those stats?Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
QuoteBy establishing a nation given them by the Balfour declaration in 1920 (IIRC), but only after they were killed by the millions because of delays and reluctance from The League of Nations, which, when it fell, phoenixed up as the UN
A state given to them by an occupying force (Britain), (which had already made numerous promises to the arabs in exchange for WW1 service) and then recognised by a dubious authority (the UN) after pressure from a biased nation (the US).
I'm afraid I still don't see why the Palestinians should think that fair.QuoteToo bad that they have to fight for their existance. They should just lay down and die, right?
OK, now you're talking about the Palestinians right?
No?
Israel is far stronger than the palestinian territories and more than capable of fighting off surounding Islamic nations. They have long since moved passed fighting for survival, and with Sharon in power have been at least as aggresive as various terrorist organisations.Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

Just looking at the more political type points thereQuotethe schism in US society during the Iraq conflict was engineered by the democratic party.
By having a different point of view than the Republicans?QuoteKerry served in Vietnam, in case you hadn't heard. Don't think he's been to Iraq lately.
Ummm, because he's old? Maybe in 30 years another democratic candidate will point to his Iraq experience.
Besides, you could say that the difference between Vietnam and Iraq is that Bush at least showed his face in the second oneDo you want to have an ideagasm? -
QuoteMake your damn minds up! You either want a "sterile" plane environment or you don't! If knives are OK, leave us alone. If they're not then don't bring them on the pissing plane yourself!

The thing that bothers me is that retina scans are not accurate enough to guarantee that a pool of 1,000 scans will not produce any false matches, let alone a pool of 65,000,000.
Also, fingerprinting has never been proven to be a 100% accurate method of identification. Some recent preliminary studies even suggest that one persons fingerprint may change enough in 5 / 10 years as to be unrecognisable.
If these cards are introduced will we have to pay for upgrades every 5 years or so?
Of course what also bothers me a lot is the suggestion that once ID cards are introduced it may become compulsory to carry them at all times. OK it has been said that this also would be subject to a further commons vote but will that hold true?Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

Is Actor Denzel Washington Racist?
in Speakers Corner
However nothing here proves that Denzel is opposed to it, he did actually film the scenes right? Could be that he's just way too sensitive about his public image and doesn't want turn away his adoring fans.
