  1. I showed the punch-slide-point handshake to my kids and they said .. Ohhh .. rock, paper, scissors!
  2. Thanks for the warning Zeemax, I've just spoken to them and you're right .. they say skydiving isn't covered. Personally I think they'd have a hard time defending that in court, the policy said parachuting was covered and as you pointed out there was a picture of a skydiver on the website. Skydiving's a branch of parachuting isn't it ? Well I've cancelled now, guess I'll look at AXA.
  3. You worried me .. my policy is with columbusdirect. They have a list of dangerous sports to choose from, and one of them is 'Parachuting'. I ticked just about every fun looking thing on the list and it came to £88 multitrip.

    PB&J's RULE

Whatever kind of sandwich you're eating, it always tastes better if you add crisps (I guess thats chips in USA-speak).
  5. Hope you don't mind a newbie gatecrashing. I really like Alanis Morisette's song, and even though I don't expect to meet someone that fits, I take it as a good guide to live by .. "21 Things I Want In A Lover" Do you derive joy when someone else succeeds? Do you not play dirty when engaged in competition? Do you have a big intellectual capacity but know That it alone does not equate wisdom? Do you see everything as an illusion? But enjoy it even though you are not of it? Are you both masculine and feminine? politically aware? And don't believe in capital punishment? These are 21 things that I want in a lover Not necessarily needs but qualities that I prefer Do you derive joy from diving in and seeing that Loving someone can actually feel like freedom? are you funny? la self-deprecating? like adventure? and have many formed opinions? These are 21 things that I want in a lover Not necessarily needs but qualities that I prefer I figure I can describe it since I have a choice in the matter These are 21 things I choose to choose in a lover I'm in no hurry I could wait forever I'm in no rush cuz I like being solo There are no worries and certainly no pressure in the meantime I'll live like there's no tomorrow Are you uninhibited in bed? more than three times a week? Up for being experimental? are you athletic? Are you thriving in a job that helps your brother? are you not addicted? ...curious and communicative...
  6. Last week I sneaked off work early to catch some decent weather in the hope of finishing my last console to get my cat 8 licence. It was the first jump off student status that same afternoon which was my favourite. To start with it was just so cool to manifest myself and see my name on the board with 'solo' beside it rather than 'console'. For the jump itself I didn't do anything special just looked around me turning this direction and that to admire the scenery. At 12,000 feet I was in sunshine but within twenty seconds or so I had fallen into the shadow of a cloud and then I could see the full moon shining brightly on the horizon looking like it was below me as I fell, and for a moment I thought "Maybe if I track hard enough .." Those stolen afternoons are the sweetest.
  7. I don't know this tunnel, but I flew in the tunnel in Paris when i had problems with involuntary turns during AFF .. windtunnels may not be much cheaper than ordinary jumps but they are a helluva lot cheaper than AFF rejumps. My problem was that I wasn't relaxed enough .. arms and legs too stiff .. and that was easier to sort out in the tunnel than at 9,000 feet. 10 minutes got me sorted, and I even had a chance to learn about fall rate control and so on.
