  1. Whistler Skydiving is located at the Pemberton Airport just 20 minutes north of Whistler. The views are unbelievable!
  2. I was jumping in Europe for a long time and becasue of these insurance issues with USPA and CSPA, i had to get yet another insurance carrier! It was for Zurich. The good thing was is that it was not through a parachute organization and you would be covered anywhere in the world. The catch is, most dropzones in North America require their particular organizations insurance making the zurich one redundant. I dont understand why it has to be this way. Life would be so much easier if we could have a universal insurance such as the one i had. It was also cheap as well. About 70 CAD for the year! No magazones though
  3. I just looked at the site and it will be held in Reichenbach at skydive switzerland. Thats awesome! I wish i could be there for it this year...
  4. reichenbach in switzerland is awesome. amazing views of the alps and brienzersee! You can see the matterhorn and mont blanc as well! www.skydiveswitzerland.ch
  5. I remember when i bought my pc105... the guy said never use ... it was either fuji or panasonic... cant remember.. .but the reason was they leave crap on your heads and you have to get it cleaned quite frequently... stick with sony... it safer
  6. I think it depends. If you read the USPA insurance coverage on your membership, it states that any case must be brought in the UNited States... I know my dropzone made me get CSPA. Also, if you have an accident that causes damage to a 3rd party at a CSPA dropzone, CSPA insurance fund will not help the dz and in order for you USPA insurance to work, the injured party would have to sue you or the dz in the states... which is highly unlikely.
  7. I am heading to Orlando for a month in late august only thing is, i am going solo... anyone know a nice dz where i might be able to find some jump friends? which one is the best to go to... in the way of price, altitude and aircraft and all that.
  8. I just checked and the file is mpeg... i guess thats a good reason for the lack in quality. thanks for everyones input
  9. I have a Sony PC105. i hook it to my computer with the USB cable that came with it and the sync up. i can then control the camera from my computer... kinda like when you hook two cameras together with the fire wire i guess. I was just wondering about the difference in quality. Do i lose quality by using USB? It always seems it is not as clear as it should be... or is there some way to change the download settings.
  10. I have been usinf usb to transfer video to my laptop... whats the deal with firewire.. is it that much better?

    Hockey Fights

I agree... Another thing that makes me mad about this situation is the amount of coverage it is getting. People who dont know S#it about hockey are making assumptions a judging something they know nothing about. This morning my girlfriend called me after watchin the morning show "the view" and said they were calling him a "canook" they cant even pronounce the name right! they dont know anything about hockey, how can they be in a position to judge him. rrrrrr!

    Hockey Fights

i am not sure why everyone keeps saying he snapped his neck. a broken neck implies life consequences and whell chairs and such. He fractured 2 vertebre and will have a 6 to 12 week recovery time.
  13. Skydiving made me a dork because now i play chatty on the internet
  14. I do agree he should be suspended. for how long, i cant say. i think they should compare it to other investigations they have done for similar circumstances and judge accordingly. But, i have to say, all the extra people jumping on could not have helped the situation either, and who knows, maybe some of the damage was done then. Bottem line is that seeking retribution is part of hockey... it always has been. thats why the goons get to play too. (even though bert is not a typical goon, lets not forget is performance in the past years being one of the top goal scorers in the league) I dont believe he intended to do what he did. nobody in their right mind would. It was a game with a lot of emotion and the refs did not control it whatsoever. in fact, they made it worse... i was there, i saw it. if you get a chance, check out the stats on NHL.com and you can see the calls made against us. it was a very frustrating game. Lets not forget Linden becoming the highest scoring player in canuck history... yay linden!
  15. So on the street if i punch one person and break their jaw and shoot another person and just graze them with a flesh wound, which one do you think i would get in more trouble for??? i think the one with the weapon is a way better show of intent to injur. not punching someone and accidentally breaking their face.
