Thanks guys. :)Physically, I'm ready. The bones are healed, I can run out a landing, and I have my doctor's blessing.

I noticed that you said "I am supposed to jump". There is no such thing as supposed to, jump when you are ready and fully healed.

Take somemore time off Jessica. You'll only be stronger.

I know its hard to stay away from jumping. I would suggest that you make sure that you can PLF without any pain(I mean zero pain). Please try on a soft mattress first. :)

She practices the martial art of Kali-Eskrima-Silat (knife-and-stick fighting), skis, rock climbs, rides horses, and plays the accordion.

To everyone that voted "I'd let her kick my ass......." She can probably kick your ass anyways :P.

Seems like a person that would not be afraid to skydive if someone suggested it to her.

  3. So where/from who did you buy your first rig at?

I brought mine in parts, still not done.

    At DZ gear shop
    ================
    Alti-2 Neptune Altimeter.
    Z1 Helmet.
    Jumpsuit(on order).
Sabre 2 canopy(the one for sale).

    Internet dealer
    ============
    Mirage G4.
    Sabre2 Canopy(Custom colors on order).

I'm on student status and just hit my first bad day of Skydiving--------or should I say lack of skydiving.
I got to the dropzone early on Sunday and was looking forward to knocking off a few aff levels but the winds were buzzing 15-20 . I waited and waited but no change. It was good to watch and learn as the experienced jumpers delt with the conditions, but getting bumped still sucked. I know as a newbie that this situation is bound to happen again. Just wondering what any of you thought about it and your best advice to deal with it.-------------

I had those days as a student and I broke my ankle just after getting off student status, jumping in high winds. Now about two months later, I am able to walk almost normally. 1-2 months before I can jump again.

The next time you feel too eager to make a jump think about this.

  5. I don't think any of the options fits my situation.

    Here are the facts.

    1) I have been smoking for a month.
    2) I smoked for a month to two months 2 years ago and then quit.

I only smoke when I am depressed.

I can get a new sabre2 190 for $150 more than you are asking(I am asking 1350 shipped for a new still in the bag purchased Dec 03 Sabre 2 190, he is offering $1100).

Anyway, it doesn't seem like it but let me know if you are willing to lower the price. What i'm thinking is even tho it is a "new" canopy, it is already second hand, I don't know where it's been and how it's been treated, and the first jump I put on it is gonna drop its value to $1000.

    So what do you think?
Its just for fun. I am not selling my canopy for less than 1350 anyway.

My take on this is that the guy is just making up reasons to justify a low price.

If you were not sure how a canopy was treated you don't buy it until you inspect it. Not just say I will buy it without inspection for lesser money.

I had a post deleted because I was offering the skydiving community a chance to apply for a Job that is available at my work. . .it was advertisement and therefore breaking the rules,

So my signature here is a banning offense??

  8. I am redoing my canopy progression. Will be using student gear, I won't jump this rig until I standup all my landings. :)
About 30-50 jumps from now. That's why I am not purchasing a reserve or cypress, until I am ready to jump this rig.

If it is all ready I might be tempted ;)

  9. Try sitting in an airplane that is descending like a jumpship that is'nt pressurized.

I was at the DZ yesterday, just purchased an observer ticket and went back up, just to get the feeling of being at 14K. On the way down it felt like my ears would start bleeding. I did the hold your nose and pressurize and nothing happened. Hmm, I never felt anything wrong with my ears when I was jumping.

I asked the pilot and he showed me the same thing...this time I did it longer like for 15 secs...until I felt the air escaping thru the ears. Much better now.

    Try doing that thing longer??
