Sigh this has been talked about over and over. A TI is a PIC with a PAYING passenger therefore they are and should be held to the same standards as any pilot and this isn't my opinion it is what is currently the regulation. Correct? If the FAA signs off and TI's going out and getting DUI's and allows them to continue to pilot paying passengers then then fine until then don't do the crime if you cant do the time.

there is a road to redemption. From what I remember this wasn't the TI's first.

I don't know anything about Charlie and most people that will vote for against him wont "know" him either. My comment was more of a "don't invite confusion/conflict" observation because if the conflict was "obvious" to me then I am sure it would be to others.

As for the "I'm not in it for the money" and "he is not influenced by how much money he needs to make " these statements do the opposite for most people. 1. because no sane person starts a business to lose money 2. very few and I mean very few humans truly care very little for money. So with this concept being foreign to most people (didn't say all) I would avoid using it is all. Instead I'd focus on the things your doing for the sport and the thing you would like to accomplish. I want someone that makes decisions because good, safe decisions are GOOD for a long sustainable future for everyone. :) My opinion for what its worth.

If your going to make statements like this back it up with data Professor. Just how many of those shootings were by LEGAL gun owners? How many by people with CCP's? You know TRUTH and FACTS those sticky little problems you have such a hard time with.

He had Fast Eddie engraved on hardware and it was one of his demo rigs. The canopy(s) was/were a lazer 290 with the main having FM102 on the underside. I didn't know who he was until I learned about him on here.

Even though we never met I have always been grateful to you for having been able to buy that rig. No way would I have been able to afford as many jumps as I did those first 3-4 years without getting the smokin' deal I got.

The one that was told to me and I use often is "it isn't going to hurt me" I was told that when I asked a stupid question pretty sure it was Brian that said it to me but not 100% positive. Regardless my puzzled and dumbfounded look on my face made me stop and re-think what I was about to do. I get the same puzzled look and "what is that supposed to mean" response which I then offer my feelings on whatever stupid Idea is about to take place.

I believe most of us have thought and tried really dumb shit at some point or another and gallows humor more then "hey you shouldn't do that" gets us to stop and think before we act. Skydivers tend to be A type's and don't usually take well to being told what to do/don't do but if you can get them to stop and actually think, if they have any brains at all, the will realize the massive mistake they are about to make. Just want to get people opinions on S-turns during final approach, or during any part of the landing pattern. Are you ok with it? Does it matter what your discipline is? ( ie Free fly, swoop, wingsuit). Are there instances when it is nessasary?

You said landing pattern so NO they are not ok but if you set yourself up to run into an airplane or building then please CAREFULY perform very deliberate S turns while kicking your legs and LOOKING over your shoulders to make eye contact to make sure those behind you know you screwed the pooch and watch and get our of your way. Then when you land apologies and buy beer.

If you are a dead man if you do nothing then by all means do SOMETHING.IF I am at 500 ft and my canopy splits wide open you bet your ass I am going for a canopy transfer. If I am at 1000' and my lines break and I have an un-survivable canopy I am performing a canopy transfer. WTF do I do just sit and look at it and go fuck it I'm dead but someone on Dizzy told me to never try a canopy transfer so I had better just accept that i'm a dead man.

Edit to add I have skyhooks in both my rigs just for this very oh shit moment but id still go for a canopy transfer (deploy reserve followed by cutting away gunslinger fast) as that is what I have always trained my brain to think under 1000' you guys can argue and act all smart and shit but if you canopy turns to shit under 1000' please prepare to do SOMETHING now before it happens and if nothing else it will keep you distracted from the giant rock that is hurtling at you. And go ask your DZO or AFFI what they plan on doing during the last seconds of their life. I am pretty sure they have a plan.

first of all, that is just rude. second, i can prove it, and in fact, have proved it by performing all of my tasks; i write a bi-weekly article for a newspaper, currently am enrolled in 18 hours of college for my bachelors, work full time, maintain the iso database at linuxquestions.org, volunteer with a local youth group, attend security conventions and somehow find the time to camp and fish. with the exception of the fishing, i perform all of the actions at least 'good', and am striving for great, but that is a little hard while juggling so much. and i get high every day, sometimes several times a day. so screw you, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Why not stop getting high for a month and see if you can change almost good into good or even better GREAT? What's 30 days of not getting high? You don't have a problem so not lighting up for 30 shouldn't be a problem and the money you'll save can go to the youth programs you say your part of. What do you say? You willing to take that challenge and report back your findings?
