  1. Yeah I have an ff2 (for non pro stuff) and the door access is great for showing people footage without taking everything apart.
  2. After A LOT of research over the last few months. I ended up buying the HC5. I looked at the solid state stuff and it all seemed a bit new. I also disregarded it because I am a tandem cameraman and the speed of editing is an issue. I dont want to be playing around with highly compressed files to get the into a useable state before editing etc. It also didnt support a cam eye, which I thought was a big downer. I jumped my new HC5 6 times the other day and it performed excellently. It has a diamond 0.3x on the front which is awesome. The camera is pretty light and mounts nicely onto my flat top pro via flatlock (cookie). Pulling the footage onto my laptop, the quality is excelent in terms of colour, maybe a little on the dark side but I think this is more of a settings issue. I was jumping it in "outdoor" mode, but as UK tandems are normally against dark clouds rather than sunny skies so I dont think I need this on. Generally though, I think the cameras great.
  3. Some of the nero software is good. I forget which part of the nero suite it is, but it allows you to do exacly what you want. I use Ulead Video Studio to do my "mini slideshow" at the end of tandem videos which is also very good.
  4. Any news on how this test jump went ? I am shopping for cameras at the moment and really like the idea of solid state.
  5. Ok, So here I am looking at high defininition cameras, mounted horizontally on a flat top pro, for mainly tandems, but also with a view to doing some tv work. I want a small hi def camera that isnt going to be a chore to jump but will produce a good result for higher quality applications. A friend jumps an HDR-HC1 (Mini DV) and its been tried and tested. There are the newer HC 3 / 5 /and 7 versions above this which are scarily the same price as the lower spec hc1 (second hand as its a discontinued model). So guys. If you had the cash you would buy ....
  6. Have asked bonehead and they only do splatter effect, even though their website says they do more. I contacted www.bikepaints.co.uk but they quoted £200 for a marble effect as it is all custom airbrushing and not the cheaper "gel coat" marbling techniue. 2k Composites quoted £45 which is much better. Will keep asking around. Thanks guys for your help Mark
  7. Hi All, Am thinking about buying a Bonehead Optik but would like it to be a bit jazzier than the standard single colours. As bonehead dont do things like marbling effects etc does anyone know companies that do and more importantly how much it all costs ! I am in the UK so ideally UK companies only, but all info would be greatly recieved Thanks in advance Mark
