  1. This sounds like a very good idea. I would like to see them used in the slider stops on B and C out board stabilizers to the corners of the slider. Pretty innovative notion.

Might be a simple way to cure some old Sabres of the slammin' ways...

  2. When you install them, a simple 50lb pull will set them. If you do this with both loops of the slink the same length, they set quite nicely in place and there is no reason not to tack them. A little pinch in the middle to elongate the link (like after they've been loaded a few times) also helps.

I set my slinks this way and they never jump out of the riser and they are untacked. However, I have no reservations with chopping my main if something is not right. I tack all of my rigging customer's soft links, main and reserve, and my reserve slinks are tacked.

    hope this helps, Hixxx

  3. Looks like something a woman pleasures herself with...

I will be interested to see if the Yamaha team can iron things out with Rossi's bike and tires. It seems like the field is catching up with him this year. I also have a perverse idea in my head about how Rossi would be on a Ducati...

I saw a kickass dogfight in race two of Superbike from Assen. Bayliss totally sniped Toseland off the last turn. Seriously hair raising shit!!!

  4. I will just say I come from the tape trading generation and burn cds to put them on my ipod. I don't mind artists protecting their music to extent, but I will also say they are crippling promotion of their music.

I will only buy something after I have heard it and the quality of the material makes me want to add it to my personal collection. Further, if the music really stands on it's own, I replace it if the disc gets damaged. Controlling the sharing of music fucks the consumer from the standpoint of making you own it before you can evaluate it. Pretty packaging and promotion sells it instead of the product itself. Further, seeing how shitty artists far outnumber true innovators, the odds are against the consumer to buy a piece of shit that goes to the cd warehouse shortly after.

Not to mention, most artists or producers are emulating artists or producers they like anyway. A band like Nirvana comes out and there are 20 bands behind them with similar song structure, vocals and production value. Do they ever sue because somebody copped their sound though seemingly and quite delibrately a producer has tried to make another band like theirs to turn some coin?

Do you ever worry about your influences coming back and suing you?

Ultimately, the music needs to stand on its own first and then people will want to own it. Own the music, the artwork, and ever little bit of info they can get from the artist they revere. Interfering with the evaluative process in this way may make good economic sense, but is terrible for the artform. The consumer ends up with music more because the were marketed to rather than had a chance to evaluate it.

So, I am farting in Jack's general direction...

    that's my 2 cents, Hixxx

  5. Very Cool, I saw the Mobrules tour in '81. Dio is the consumate showman, not to mention Geezer is the archetype for badass metal bass players.

I haven't seen Megadeth since Clash of the Titans with Anthrax and Slayer in the 90s. Not too fond of the later material, but Killing is My Business and Peace Sells are all time favorites. I also like So far and Rust, but not quite as much.

    Stay Metal!!!, Hixxx

  6. I used one for about 500 jumps before switching back to a throwout, which I did to clear my wing top burble better on camera stuff. The part was the wear factor, my pullouts were wearing considerably faster than a throwout.

Mine worked great, I particularly liked the security of it for freeflying and the positive pin extraction for slow and low hop n pops. I only experienced 2 floating handles from week pulls, which I easily extracted with a thumb sweep to the tuck flap.

Make sure when you pack that the eyelet in the main bridle is on top of the bottom flap, just under the right side flap next to the main bridle coverflap. This allows for the cleanest pin extraction. I also had the best results with packing the p/c under the midflap rather than off the side of the bag as some do.

  7. Or, of course...

"What you got back home, little sister, to play your fuzzy warbles on? I bet you got, say, pitiful, portable picnic players. Come with uncle and hear all proper! Hear angels' trumpets and devils' trombones. You are invited!"

Absolutely timeless, I mean aren't fuzzy warbles and angel trumpets and devil trombones what life is all about???

  9. Just ban skydiving. It's a stupid way to spend your weekend.

    Seriously.

The downside of what we do is the risk of an early and unpleasant death from sudden impact trauma.

Thats's the coin we pay for the high. If you can't handle it, the door to leave is always open. ***

Well said, if you are not wiiling to accept the possibilities of reaching for something "more." Maybe you should stay home and be content with a safer, structured, more secure life. Just know, something stupid may take you out anyway, like a drive to the convenience store. Go fast and take chances or... well you know...

  10. I am going to miss Danny...

He planned 8-ways (that were safe and worked) around me when I was low on experience at the Carolina Skysports Easter Boogie in '99. Then had parenting advice for me over dinner...

I had fun jawin' with Danny everytime I ran into him in my GA adventures over the years. He was one of skydivings great infectious personalities. You may not have agreed with everything he said, but his verve and zest for skydiving and life was undeniable.

  11. I am a big Randy fan, but Crocop isn't quite human. I would give Crocop the advantage, he could definately wipe out his comeback quickly and brutally. However, Couture is a cunning warrior...
