  1. I think the Psycho-pack is a safe packing procedure. BUT
there are a few canopies that the old reliable pro-pack seems best. From my observations and experience,I would not suggest the psycho-pack for F-111 fabric chutes, the PD Vengence, Jedi, or other air-lock chutes. I know of one jumper that Psycos her Spectre with no problems. Make sure
you have a bridle extension if needed...

  3. It sounds more like a marketing ploy, that being the re-release of older canopies under new names. Remember the Space canopy was re-released under the Alpha name (the same chute with a new label and higher loadings). Sounds like the same thing, with the only "tweeking" being a new label and logo.

  4. i just purchased an AR-11. It came with reversed 3-rings and
triple risers. Is it safe? I sent it back to AR for inspection and steering line replacement, but they said nothing about the risers.
    Thanks!

  5. Ouch!!!
You are paying about $1000.00 toooooo much. For the best deal on that gear , call Roy at Rigs& Things
para-gear.com Two years ago I bought a starter rig from him. Great price & service.

  6. I have not noticed any problems with the Psycho Pack EXCEPT with air-locked canopies. I do not recommend you try this pack job on canopies like the Vengence or Jedi. It seems to interfer with proper inflation and can cause violent spins!!!! The Psycho Pack has given me the most consistent predictable openings on other chutes.

  7. It's funny this discussion appears on this board. My field of research is drug development and delivery specific to
human sexual performance and reproduction. Orgasm is clinically indentical for male and female, the only differences are due to conditioning.

  8. Hello,
I have request for letters of encouragement to an injured jumper. She was in her AFF jump and landed hard, broke her leg, and bruised her body. She is anxious to heal and finish AFF. A little depressed, she thinks she is the only one who messed up a landing. Anyone intrested in sending her a letter of encouragement should address it to

Thanks, you letters will be greatly appreciated!

  9. Kris:
A note on the HeatWave, if it's the new blunt nose: load it at a minimum of 1.2:1. Less than that, you might be dissapointed with the performance. If you are looking for a lighter loading, I recommend you try the Hornet.

  10. I've had 3 rides on a Raven 150. The chute flew great and had good landings....(better than my Sabre main).
I still prefer a Tempo because of smaller pack volume.

  11. Rumor at my DZ says it's a semi-eliptical 9 cell with higher loading and TSO'd for higher opening speeds.

  12. The Sabre is an old canopy (and good for its' day), but is technologically outdated. The canopy has some funny opening characteristics...I've see new ones open gently and have harder openings as they get older; and then seen just the opposite happen. I would not recommend a Sabre to anyone given the superior canopies available today.

  13. I got the Heatwave from Roy at Rigs&Things last summer. The leading edge is different from earlier versions.
I have about 90 jumps on this new one and have had no problems with the canopy. You need to be square in the harness at pull or you will have an off-heading opening. It dosen't take long to learn how to steer with your hips on opening. I've had a few steep dives but no twists. (only with my Mirage or Dolphin container, I had lots of problems using this chute with my Reflex...which I no longer use..)

  14. Hey, I have no complaints about the rig except the trouble I've experienced on deployment and poor customer service from Flightline. The rig is tight in free-fly and fairly comfortable. I appreciate all the help and suggestions received and now I have a place to start in resoving these problems. It's sad that the manufacturer will not reply to
my requests for help. It dosen't matter how good the rig is, lousy customer service will kill any repeat business from me. Flightline must be making one whopping profit to be able to ignor customer's requests for help.

  15. I've jumped both chutes, same size (150). The Heatwave is much more stable, especially in gusts and will fly in brakes further. The Stiletto is a bit snappier in turns and has a shorter toggle control range. I usually take an extra
wrap on my brakes on the Heatwave to get a great surf. Given the price difference, packing ease and solid flight characteristics, the Heatwave is by far the superior chute.

  16. The fabric on the Heatwave and Hornet are the same. I'm on my 3rd Heatwave and often wonder why PD can't make a chute as solid as the Heatwave. After jumping a heatwave I'd never go back to a Spinetto!

  17. I've jumped a 130 loaded at 225#. Too fast for my skill level, but it handled great...
It was the new blunt nose design (2000). I don't think the older (pre-2000) fly as nice at heavier loadings.
    I'm on my 3rd HeatWave...love the chute!!!

  18. Lisa, the problem is definately the container. I have eliminated most of the variables by switching chutes, changing
packing technique, double stows, changing positions on opening ...ad infinum...
The sad part is that the manufacturer appears to care less that I have problems.
