  1. I told him in beforehand to look as ugly as possible. I think he succeded in his mission
  2. Hi! I have started up a new photoblog with skydiving pictures from Swedish photographers. The goal is to publish one good picture a day. Check it out! The website is in swedish, but hey, pictures are kind of free from language barriers http://www.blahimmelblogg.se
  3. Nokia is not a Swedish company, but you are pretty close. Nokia is from Finland. Triva: Nokia started their business making wellingtons! Blue Skies, /David - Sitting in front of my IKEA table on my IKEA chair :-)
  4. I jump the D70 with an IR solution. No mods in the camera and it works pretty good. I bought the IR-remote and did a bypass operation. the IR sensor is mounted on the helmet and i built my own tounge switch. Quite easy and cheap. The only problem is that I have to "release" my tounge to take a new picture. I got a fast tounge so that is not a major problem ;-) Use the fastest CompactFlash card you can find on the market and the camera is ready whenever you want to take a picture. Some D70 photos: http://mail.gfk.se/gallery/godis The goal this winter is to construct an USB remote. It should be possible. My programmer friend is on the case...

Problems with your body position? This is the solution My contribution to the Stockholm Skydive Film Festival 2004 You don't need to understand Swedish. I think you will get it... http://bengtsson.net/archmaster.mov 23MB QuickTime
  6. I heard from a friend that http://www.harbortronics.com/ are working on a solution. I'm a Swede. The dollar is weak so I guess I can get a nice price if I bye the camera overseas. Do you have a nice online dealer to recommend? I got this e-mail today!! -- I received our D70 yesterday, and have already dissasembled, engineered a remote connector, and reassembled it! It is a camera body modification, to add a new connector between the DC power and video jacks, under the cover on the left side of the camera. The modification does not involve any of the camera optics, nor will this modification interfere with any camera feature. The connector will be a 2.5mm jack, identical to what is used on the Canon Rebel cameras, so it will be compatible with existing bite and tongue switches. The price is going to be $195 per camera to modify. I suspect this will void the camera's warrenty, but maybe not... Be careful up there! Mark Roberts Chief Engineer Harbortronics LLC

  8. Dear gurus, The new Nikon D70 seems to be a really nice SLR for skydiving. Faster and better at buffering than the Canon 300D The question is how to solve the remote trigger problem. There is no standard wire at the D70, just an IR reciever on the camera. Is there an IR to wire solution out there? I would appreciate some tips and tricks! Blues Skies, /David
  9. Do you have some pictures of this solution? Please :) /David
  10. I'm not concerned about the AFF stuff. We use practice pulls today and it's basically the same procedure with throw out/ripcord. The challenge is the IAD students. The altitude is low and I really want to know that my student throw out that PC before I let them off for their first "real" jump :)

  12. Hi! I'm an instructor in Sweden. We use ripcords for all our students, but people in charge are talking about switching to throw out for both JAD and AFF. I don't see a problem for AFF, but how do you solve dummy throw outs for JAD students? As an instructor I want to see my JAD student throw some kind of dummy ripcord away, but I don't want to throw away a lot of ripcords... :) How do you solve this problem? Blue Skies, /David

    S3 fun

It is an exit shot, but we are flying in formation. It's really nice to do a two way with a Twin-Otter I made one jump last weekend and we had 7-8 seconds together in formation.
