  1. I tried the Hooters in Clearwater Fl one Christmas because of all the hype everyone threw at me about the waitresses. Yeah, they were friendly enough, but everyone in the place was so snugged into several layers of fleece and sweatpants, gloves and hats that one could barely make out eyeballs and drooly noses... and the muffled voices that came through the windings of scarf could have been done by Cheetah the Chimp in hostage mode. It was sort of like going out to the the ice races up here in December. The food wasn't of much note, but the beer was nice and cold.
  2. Various companies create add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator in the form of aircraft, scenery, airports, and such, as enhancements that you can buy and load into the program. Why? Dunno, why not, I suppose. ANYway... A company called Aerosoft has just released a Twin Otter add-on that has an old friend in it. It's not quite right in a few places, but it still made me smile when I saw it. http://www.fspilotshop.com/popup_user_images.php?peiID=200&osCsid=584663738e09199a9a66bdc28c872a2c
  3. I don't really actually think the taser was a good idea. I was... ummm... just sort of hoping that, like, I could talk 'Shell into using one on me. You know... in the name of Science and stuff.
  4. tsk, tsk, 'Shell... I gave you this link once already, but here it is again. Still available in leopard print too. http://www.taser.com/products/consumers/Pages/C2.aspx Of course this time of year you would have to nail the bugger in the eyeballs (because of the snowsuits), and you would have to learn to trigger the follow-up hits between Hercs throat tearing lunges so you didn't inconvenience the pup, but you've always had perfect timing so I don't see that as a problem. Tell you what, if you buy the beer I'll even come over and let you practice on me till you get it right.
  5. >" It's entirely possible that others could modify their infrastructure and procedures to separately accomodate both traditional and high-performance patterns" You might be right. You could probably have full throttle swooping safely happening at either Perris or Eloy if it was done way out there by the... umm... watchamacallem's... the existing swooping ponds instead of in the main landing areas.
