  1. OK - thanks for the advice, think I will demo / borrow a smaller Sabre2 (I completed around 10-15 jumps on 150sq ft demo canopies last year but didn't feel an awful lot of difference, so maybe try a 135 in various conditions may be more suitable) and possibly a crossfire 139.
  2. Been learning to swoop for 150+ jumps on my sabre 2, beginning to feel that I would benefit from a higher performanced biased canopy. I have considered a Stiletto but am apprehensive about the opening characteristics, I have heard some horror stories. what should I expect? is it worth worrying about? what alternatives should i consider?
  3. Thanks Deuce, I was thinking of buying the red eye lens from way cool industries which is 0.3, but was worried about capturing good features (ie. peoples faces etc..) on larger skydives. I will be coming to the holiday boogie with some frends at Eloy btw.
  4. When using a wide angle lens, is there any benefit from using the zoom on your camcorder for different types of skydive? For instance if you were using a very wide angle lens set for 1 on 1 close up filming, then wanted to use the same lens set up for an 8 way freefly jump, would zooming in a little help to capture better features??
  5. I have also recently bought a PC120 and am in the process of setting up my helmet (Arrow dynamics Hawkeye), could you let me know what you decide to go with and how you get on. I will be mainly using it for freeflying BTW
  6. All of the Icons / pictures have disappeared from my screen. I can still get access to the links if I click on them but can't ses them. I can't see this
  7. 29.6mlies Car = 45mins Motorbike = 25mins BTW ever try leaning into a bend at 120mph forgetting you have a huge rig bag on your back? Fun but very scary!
  8. Most likely, low timers get sick because they have NEVER had so much adrenaline pumped through so quick in their lives. You'll learn to get used to it, you'll learn to LOVE it Tooo right!
  9. I am a newcomer from the UK I have around 40 jumps, I have always wanted to freefly even before my 1st jump( looks sooo cool) but I am told that I have to gain my b license and FS1 before I even think about a sit jump. Is this strictly true or are the rules different in the US as some of you chaps talk about freeflying on your 1st solo?
  10. I got impression that the girl I was talking about had been away from the sport for a long time, I think the tandem thing was just to see how she would react in freefall. I think you are right about the experience level too I have heard about some of the highly experienced guys only needing to complete a few jumps per year to stay current.
  11. I am not 100% sure so dont take my word for it but I think its generally left to the CCi's discresion. I know one girl who had some time off then asked what she needed to do start back, I think she had to complete a tandem and a couple of jumps with an AFF instructor. Probably best to go down to your DZ and speak with the CCi. Hope this helps.
  12. Does anyone know what height lack of oxygen becomes a big factor and how several jumps from 13K in one day will effect the body. After a day at the DZ I usually feel pretty tired even though most of the day I am just bumming around. I think the adrenaline must play a part in this but I wonder if exposure to lack of oxygen would cause this too? does everyone else find this or is it just me?
  13. Just begun to learn how to pack, completed the flat packing corse run at my DZ and need to practice for the test to get my packing cert. I own a new Sabre2 is it wise to practice Flat packing on a new ZP canopy or should I learn to PRO pack first?
  14. I completed AFF and 3 consolidation jumps in 3 weekdays earlier this year. I was lucky enough to have good weather and a good instructor.
