  1. The full results are now available from the BPA web site: [http://www.bpa.org.uk/2004%20FS%204-way%20Nationals%20results.htm] Go Escondido! ----------------------------------------------- "It's always a nice day above the clouds"
  2. OK, I'm one of those who's just bought a Digital Rebel. I've very little experience in cameraflying (100 jumps) and have only two jumps with the stills. I have got an average knowledge of photography and was able to capture some good shots (shown on another thread). There is a huge temptation to hand these round for free just to get the attention. They might even be used in an article in UK's Skydive Mag to promote the even I was at. How would you all suggest I progress with my stills photography? I'm wanting to get into team video and Tandem jumping which would be dictated by the DZ but for fun jumps or for people requesting photos how should I proceed? ----------------------------------------------- "It's always a nice day above the clouds"
  3. It sure was. Cark have just taken delivery of it, so its sparkly new. A couple of things need sorting out - like a floor you can stand on, rather than the slippery one at present. Plenty of rails and steps though and the speakers have given the Tandems many a fun ride to altitude. I know there's been some talk about problems with the low tail for cameraflyers but I didn't have a problem. ----------------------------------------------- "It's always a nice day above the clouds"
  4. Hi all, I've been jumping camera now for 100 jumps and for the first time at the weekend jumped my new digital stills. Not jumped any stills before but got a Digital Rebel (300d in UK) and jumped it twice. To say I'm impressed is an understatement. Camera was set to aperture priority, f8 on auto focus and ISO200. This was using the kit lens set to 18mm. These are some of the pics I got. What do you think? I know some people jump with a Sigma 15mm. This might be something to invest in for close work but at the moment I'm mainly filming FS jumps. Does anyone else use different settings. This is something I'm going to have to play, especially as I'm new to "proper" photography as well. Your thoughts would be appreciated. ----------------------------------------------- "It's always a nice day above the clouds"
  5. Hey Mel - Hope you enjoy your filming. I loved it filming your 2-ways skills camp over easter when the BCPA crowd were at elsinore. You even made the DVD I sent to Pat. Not got my wings yet - still jumping without but they're the next purchase after the British Nationals and our 4-way are done. Team Escondido wre missing a member so I'm now turning their points rather than filming them! Hope to see you next easter. 6. In the UK when doing AFF you have to do a Hop & Pop as your 8th jump to qualify. I know when I was at Skydiving Space Centre with my girlfriend when she was doing AFF there the other students and low time jumpers thought she was carzy for suggesting that she did it on her 8th! Anyway it good practise for the weather we have here in England! ----------------------------------------------- "It's always a nice day above the clouds"
