  2. The wings D-Bag that I have has the four locking grommets on the flap (locking stows), then it has a type of binding tape sewn into the top of the flap that runs vertical to the locking stow grommetts where you can attach at least 2 rubber bands on each side, but, I have used an additional band on one side because of the length of lines that I have.

  3. Mark, thanks for sharing. Thats what this is all about, learning, sharing, being safe. Not just Opinions. I have asked before about tube stows and have gotten 50/50 either way...the article sheds some light...Thank You.

  4. Doug, here's a suggestion, this is the Gear and Rigging forum where there are plenty of people asking for advice and/or opinions. Have you ever read anywhere in any manual you have that says "only" use a certain type or size rubber band or tube stow to close your D-Bag? If you have can you share it with us. The important thing to remember here is that this person was asking for advice and opinions on HIS gear. The person didn't ask what your reaction would be to the picture in regards to YOUR gear. Why is it some people no matter what have to think that their opinion is the only one that matters. Wait a second..that was a statement...glad I didn't offer any ADVICE...c ya

  5. Well your working with all "new" gear. The canopy will become easier to work with with more jumps and it will relax. IMHO...maybe try going back and persuading your canopy into the bag just a little bit more after the first few locking stows are made. And, if anyone cares to comment, maybe double "wrap" the locking stows. Myself, I have a 229 Icarus and it is a little work in and of itself, I use large sized rubber bands doubled on the locking stows, and small rubber bands on the remaining stows. Other comments or suggestions anyone?

  6. Yepp, what they said..took it back in 78'. Just remember them stinking rules...and a question will always sound like a question...and etc.etc etc...good luck...I just passed with enough to go to the DLIFLC at Montery CA.

And it never hurts to ask...what they hell did they just say. But remember, it is a taped test, not a book test...so once it starts...it starts.

  8. Guess it all depends. 1st, if the other Union does goes on strike, does your union support the strike motion? Some unions say that they are going on strike but they really aren't on strike, they are just maybe making a show of opposition by "picketing".

2nd, If the other Union does go on strike and your Union supports their strike motion, and your called or asked to report for work, your shop/union steward is the person to ask for advice on what your local is doing. If they support it, the strike, you will be asked to not report for work. If you do report for work, through the back door, you will be labeled a SCAB. Your union could ask your employer to release you. Some unions have in their contract that if an active member of the union cross's a picket line, they could be released. I.E. you will not be entitled to the union umbrella of a representation and/or benefits and therefore have no job.

Ask your union. Thats the best rule!

  11. Quote

mine is a w27. It has a smart 250 reserve and a spectre 230 main.

I also have a W27. I have a Super Raven IV (282) and a Safire2 229 main. Again, don't guess and don't worry about the size of the container. When you fill out the order form and state what Main and Reserve combination you have to go into the container they will make the container to fit those canopies. Blues

  12. Plow, are you going to be able to pull the slider all the way down past the bumper stops? I also am waiting for mynew Safire2 229 to arrive next week. I use standard size risers and i don't know if the slider grommets will be large enough to slide over the risers and the set brakes. Ok let me have it JP. I would look at what I have now, but I have allready sold my other canopy w/slider, and my risers are at the DZ. Thanks..Mark
