  1. Ok, so I downloaded it last night and I'm not really that impressed. I had to update my wireless drivers in order to be able to scroll correctly. It's tabular on the top of the page instead of on the bottom and it looks a little different. Updated icons I guess. Am I missing some great new functionality other than possibly security enhancements?:S

I bought a quality pillowtop mattress set, put a Novaform topper on it, covered that with a thin "downy" mattress pad, got 1200 thread count sheets, a microsuede comfortor and some good down pillows. Even when insomnia is winning its nocturnal battle against sleep, I'm at rest because my bed really is that comfortable. B|

I had to check your profile to check and see if you were really a man - that f'in rocks!:PB|

Our camper bed is not doing the trick and I've been looking for good suggestions - I'll continue to check the rest of this thread!:)

No ... I've kind of used DZ.COM as an informal log book as my paper log books aren't always up-to-date. So when it says I've made 1555 skydives, know that I have made 1555 skydives. But to each their own.

I love that - DZ.COM as an unofficial log book. I wish profiles stayed with the date of the person's post. THAT would be a good idea.:)

  6. Just a thought. Sometimes it amazes me now that I live at a dropzone and I see guys jumping their asses off everyday that they're not making as many as I think in a year.

Then, I see guys I knew years ago with a few hundred jumps and now they're in their thousands! Did I really miss that much action?!:S

I'm a weekend jumper and have a full time job so I only crank out about 200 jumps a year. Now that I'm living at a DZ, I'm hoping to double that amount.B|

  7. Chuck was on the cover of the Pasco Tribune yesterday. The picture caption said "Chuck Blue, 43, of Zephyrhills makes a splash. He had hoped to skim the pond."

He got like 2 feet of the end of the pond but the picture was awesome!

Here's the article: Skydivers Gobble Up Good Times on Thanksgiving B|

Unfortunately the picture wasn't attached but it was the bottom end of an RW jump (10-way speed) and he barely caught the last two feet of the pond.:D

  10. Must be the difference between disciplines. THe whole competitive thing with lawyers or something because Grad School for comp sci is ALL ABOUT THE NOTES! :D

Seriously, we share everything - even have Yahoo Groups set up to share old tests and quizzes, solutions guides to the books, and the lectures themselves from the guys that take the classes from home/work. It's nutty. It's like a NERD Mafia! Not that I'm doing incredibly well because of it but I love it!B|

    I love your revenge though!:);)

  11. I've not tried Sirius but I like my XM - I can't really compare the two though. I like to hear a human voice every once and a while. THey're not really commercials - just talking about bands and other XM Channels to check out. I like that.

I also like being able to log onto my computer and listen. I'm sure Sirius has the same.B|

I bought the Roady2 I think for CHuck's motorcycle. Definitely easy to install unless you want to replace your stereo system with a digital system to get the best sound quality. If you run it through your existing non satellite stereo it's analog I think. I don't know - I'm not a very smart girl!:D

  12. Two out of 3 of my instructors cancelled class and it looked like about 50% of the other instructors did the same. The U was dead but I still went in for that one class. Occurred to me that the instructor was single and because he was from Colombia probably did not have any big travel plans...:S

    Oh well, wasn't too painful!

  14. What's bringing this on?

My only concern for you, girl, is that you're so incredibly naive that you'll get taken advantage of immediately. As a commander, I'd have you in my office on day 1 giving you all the head's up on what some of those guys will try - especially in the barracks.

It's not easy. In my company of 176 I had 6 females and they were all very much respected because they were just as tough as half of the guys. Being assigned to an Airborne unit means you have to rise to certain standards. Not only is the jumping hard, but it's not just a jump. It's usally the follow-on mission that sucks. The foot march to a field site where you're going to set up camp and train on your war-time mission. The 20K yearly foot marches suck but that also means that you practice those weekly. You have to be able to run your 4 miles in 36 minutes over any terrain.

I don't know what you're looking for in life, Gail, but the Army Airborne is probably not it. Not that I don't think you're tough enough for it - I just don't think it will make you happy.

It looks to me like you're looking for a job, a way out, a way to make money. Why don't you think about what you can do that will make you happy? If the Army is it, that's great. Puruse it. But try to pick a job that will make you happy.

    Good luck either way.:)
