  10. Skydive Tampa - not sure what city it was in (off I4 just south of lakeland)... it sucks cuz if you do a search for it that f'in skyride bullshit comes up.

    It reminded me a lot of Monroe, Chester, St. George. Jumped a Twin Bo!B|

  13. Ok, so I didn't read the whole post and completely missed out on all the thread drift but that's exactly what I did today. Left school after an 8 hour study seesion and went and made a skydive at a dz I'd never been to before out in BFE. If I would have come home to the hills, I would have not been in the mood, would have had a beer, and been in bed by 9:30 pm. That's not life. I'm so proud of myself for going off on my own and doing something fun. It was a little different; however, when the locals broke out in a talent show after the night jumps ~ we'll blame it on the full moon!:S Seriously folks, Irish dancing and bowling pin juggling and the dzo's wife did a little belly dancing...:)
    Overall experience - GREAT! One jump, new DZ, 6 way hybrid night jump - memory of a lifetime!:)

  14. Where's the link with all the information? I see the event mentioned along with the dates but what about the details? Unless I want to do a tandem I can't really find the Event Flyer with all the information about planes, where to stay, cost per jump, etc.

    Please add the info to this thread or make it easier to get to on the web site. I know, us skydivers are damn demanding.:)
    Also, that music is really annoying - especially if you happen to click on this at work.[:/]

    Chuck and I were going to go up as part of a wedding gift for a nominal fee 2 years ago but once I saw the landing area I changed my mind. It's about the distance between the goal post and the 10 yard line - no joke!

  20. I think I know what you're saying - I have some great video in flight but don't have many stills. I think Matt has some great ones from this last weekend on his site - lemme look...

    Ok, here is a pick - that's me in the yellow/fuscia in the somewhat arched body position in the back. The wing attaches to the leg slightly lower than the hip but poses no problem at pull time at all. In fact, because there's no "sewing" of wing to body, the hole is merely for the legstrap that goes OUTSIDE the wingsuit instead of in. Most suits make it possible to reach your risers w/out unzipping or releasing the quick release on the leg. That was kind of Tony's point in using his years of experience on camera suits building a different kind of wingsuit.

    Don't worry, I already bought Tony, Smiley and Jeff an 18-pack when I picked up the suit. Said I'd buy the last six pack when I lived!:ph34r:

  24. The one I'm going to hopefully jump tomorrow is just a prototype - I'm not a huge fan of Yellow - especially with Fuscia - but the point was to get a suit made for someone my size and get it circulated at the boogies.

    If I like it, I will definitely order one but I'm not sure what I'll do for colors. Flora's is gorgeous!

    WE HAVE TO TAKE PICS THIS WEEKEND TO PUT IN THE LADY FLYER THREAD TO EXPLAIN ALL THE LITTLE DETAILS!B|

  25. Absolutely! Even the single skin suit (no air-foils) that Lea is jumping provides average lift and drive.

    I'm headed out to Sebastian now - hopefully I'll get to jump the suit. More details to follow on the suit plus pics...B|

    A few things I've noticed I like already:

    - no need to "sew" the arm wing; legstraps go outside the suit so as long as the legstraps are easy to assemble it's easy to get in and out of; just leave it hooked up all day.

    - wings like the Tony Camera Suit with excellent air intakes for both backflying and bellyflying; clip easy to release.

    - ability to reach your risers as long as the wing is sewn properly and the clips are released

    - excellent air intake on the leg wing which is larger than my classic.

    - fitted for the ladies - one of my favorite features

    - spandex along the side to aid in reaching risers

    - elastic piece at the wrist that goes around the thumb to hold the suit more securely in place.

    - magnetic tabs at the bottom of the zipper

    - an extra piece of velcro running parallel to the bottom of the leg wing that can be released in order to pull the zipper up; made for those not quite so agile (hmmmm - Tony).
