  1. But did you ask him if he shaved that morning? JerryBaumchen We all know the answer to that! Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  2. Now this I will not argue with. I absolutely agree with that. But still, the point that I have been trying to make, that everybody keeps playing with, is the legality. Not the technicality. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  3. The "violation" that the FAA is referring to in your statement is an "air traffic control for parachuting operations" violation. Nothing to do with age of jumpers. The FAA still has no regulations on who can exit the aircraft. If you go back and read more than just the overview of that section, it states that the USPA collaborate with the FAA to provide a safe jumping environment. FAA controls things like air traffic control, as well as guidelines for equipment while USPA covers most others. The pilot and riggers licenses are not in danger of removal by the FAA just because of a minor exiting the aircraft and the USPA has no authority to revoke a pilots license. 4. Can you post the link to that page? Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  5. The pilot wouldn't get his license yanked for something like a kid jumping. The FAA has no regulations on who can exit an aircraft. Now most dzo wouldn't allow a youngster, who they do not know, jump anyway. Most dzs say 18 because of the waiver but there is nothing unlawful about a Tm getting permission from a Dzo to take, say, his son. And about the tandem manufacturers, on my first jump, Bill Booth was on the load. We were jumping strong equipment. The only thing Booth said was... He asked me (a 6 year old) if I shaved that morning. Haha. So under certain circumstances young kids can jump. There are no laws against it. But it is true that a dz wouldn't allow a young kid who they don't know to Jump because of liability. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  6. I tried. How do you do it? Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  7. How fucking cool would this be for a dz getaway?! I'm gonna build one! Go to this page! http://twistedsifter.com/2012/10/old-school-bus-converted-into-mobile-home/ Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  8. On the other hand, the kid might have a future as a lawyer if he's this argumentative and adept at parsing language at 17. NOOOOO phahahaha. I have no desire to become a lawyer. Step mom is a lawyer and I saw the hell she went through during the month before the BAR exam. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  9. Was just trying to set the information straight. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  10. QuoteIn the USA, age limits are state laws, not national. Age of majority varies from state to state...with most states being 18 years of age. This is why I answered it. Because somebody was trying to argue that it is governed by state law. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  11. Yes that is true. But special exceptions can be made where no waiver is signed and in that case state law has no limitations. The question asked was if there was law. Playing semantics by bringing up waiver issues is besides the point. It is true most dz have said 18 because of waiver issues but the question still was weather there was state or federal laws governing the age limits and the fact is, there are none. It doesn't matter if you're a lawyer. Passing a BAR doesn't mean you know everything about law. I know people who are not bar certified who could talk circles around most lawyers on laws. With the Internet the title of lawyer means very little. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  12. Pops is correct. In the US, the age limits would be governed by state laws, not federal. actually (not trying to sound like a smartass) there are not state laws governing it. All age limits are USPA "recommendation." It is enforced by the fact that USPA drop zones can get shut down by USPA or lose sponsorship. That is why I was able to do my tandem at age 6 and start AFF at 12. All recommendation no laws :) Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  13. Phahaha. I won't name the plane. I promise Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  14. No. It's okay. I didn't name you. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  15. Everybody dies... If ya give it a name that matches it's personality, it helps build a bond...makes it harder for it to hurt you 'on purpose' ~ unless of course you're lucky enough to get a canopy that was a redhead in it's past life. In THAT case it's gonna trash your ass 10% of the time...BUT the other 90% will make ALL the pain WELL worth it! ! My nylon bitch 'Lucile' ALWAYS gives me a warm feeling when I jump her...usually it's because she takes such loving care of me ~ other times it's just piss runnin' down my leg. Yea.... Everybody dies. But everything I have named have died violent premature deaths. Like when I was ten I found a dog and named it spot because it was a Dalmatian. The next day a semi truck ran it over infront of my house. The bunny that I named ate rat poison and died. The cat that I named got rabies and then got bit by a snake. See where I'm going? If I name my canopy something violent will happen. Just a superstition of mine. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me

    Help!

Yep. I wasn't lucky enough to get that many jumps in. Only 7 and now I'm 17 and back to jumping. But as far as I know (and I have heard of the Mullins) I am currently the 3rd youngest to start in the us.. I believe the 4 year old was a girl named missy (sp)? Kelly keeny (sp) had a thousand or so by the age of 18 as well. He jumped at skydive Greensberg in Indiana when I was a little. It is really cool to jump at a young age, especially if you practically lived on dz's as a young kid :D infact I believe Kelly was the first person to let me pack for him. Haha Edited to add: well it might not have been Greensberg. I think it was but we were at 3 or so dz's in Indiana and I was young so it may have been another one. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me

    Help!

My first skydive was when I was 6. It was at skydive city in z-hills Florida. It must have been around 2002 or so. Does anybody know who the videographer could have been? I cannot find the video anywhere and was wondering if he may still have it? Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
