  1. We have a full bar at Eloy, opened from 10am or so (or at very least by noon). And espresso (when the machine works) at the restaurant side (tho it aint that good). There was a proper coffee shop at the DZ, but closed after a few attempts due to, I guess, poor business volume. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  2. How is the Para-Concepts Riggers Course at Skydive Chicago? Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  3. So I have had an idea for a while.... What if a specialty coffee shop/Bar opened on a bigger busy dropzone(Like Arizona or deland, maybe even as small as Z-Hills)? Basically it would serve the best coffee you have ever had by day, and as soon as the beer light comes on start serving beer and liquor. Would have great music playing all the time (Maybe sometimes live at night?) and be an all around cool hangout on the DZ. It would have to do at least 300+ transactions each day it is open, to stay open. What do you think? Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  4. So I am in the specialty coffee business. I have had this idea for a while but I don't know how good of an idea it is. If a specialty coffee shop opened on a busy dz (Arizona or Deland ect..) how well do you think it would do? Now what if that coffee shop turned into a bar after sunset? 8. It would be really cool if inside of each thread, each post had a like button and a dislike button, so you could agree with/disagree with someone and not always have to respond. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  9. Just for curiosity sake.... What is a safe/okay wing loading for a student or lower level A license jumper. Just for shits and giggles, lets use the Sabre 2 for an example canopy. I don't want an answer like "Younger jumpers shouldn't be jumping this canopy" ect ect.... Just entertain the question. I just want to hear the opinions out there. This isn't for any real world purpose, just curious what ya think. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  10. When Temple gets busy, the majority of fun jumpers there are free flyers. Granted, it's a small dz. but there are a few fun jumpers. Atleast that's how it was 5 years ago when I practically lived there. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me

Is it a bad thing that iv already thought of this?...been getting bored in school ever since my AFF started, all i think about is being in the sky or my next jump day...hell, even installing a panel on the roof...all i'm doing is looking up at the sky... Nah, don't get him into base yet [shocke2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evod] Have you considered moving to a company that only installs solar panels on buildings that are more than 25 stories??? Just sayin Nah, lets not get him into base yet. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me

When I lived on dz's with dad as a kid, I wasn't old enough to jump regularly. I have 7 jumps in 11 years because I made my first jump at age 6, second tandem at 10 and 5 levels of "AFF" (obviously didn't count lol)when I was 12. I'm now 17 and about to go knock AFF out and get my A license as soon as I turn 18. (January) Carpe Diem, even if it kills me

Yeah, I can see that. But on the other side, nothing is better than waking up to a ray of sunshine through your trailer and the sound of the otter taking off on load 1. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me

Very, very true. Like I said. Wait untill you have atleast a C license. Maybe even your D so you can get all of your ratings and have more opportunity for a job. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me

Nah, not a bad thing. We have all thought about it. Some of us have done it. I am still thinking about it I'm only 17 and still live y home so I have a year or so to think still. The key is finding a job at a dz that will allow you to live the way you want. Maybe wait till you have your C so you can fly video? That's what I think ill do. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me

Next step is to drop out of college and move to a dz permanently. Pack/odd jobs for enough money to eat and jump. (Sometimes not even eat much)..... This is what we call "Cutting Away" Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  19. PHAHA. Right?? I still plan on going to college, for a business degree. I really want to open a coffee shop of my own, so business would be useful for me. BUT I am going to find the cheapest way to do it and spend the interest on jumping. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  20. That it is man. My step mom is an Attorney for Akin Gump. I get to listen to it all the time. And I already lived with her when she was studying for the bar (shes only a 4th year) she HATED IT. lol Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  21. I am a Barista at a coffee shop in a Downtown Dallas office building. I love Mondays because I get to hear all of the lawyers bitch about going to this job that they hate. I then get to think...."HMM you spent how much on College and law school to be doing this job that you HATE? DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY SKYDIVES THAT IS?!?" Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  22. Isn't Skydive 35 a tandem farm? Go up to Skydive Dallas or down to Skydive Temple during the busy season. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  23. That's okay. I originally posted This one, because I didn't realize that there was a rigging section. so this one can get deleted. Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  24. Thank you for sending me a link to my question. SO helpful. lol Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
  25. I have been packing since I was 8 years old. Someone told me that I should look into getting my riggers ticket as soon as I turn 18. What would be the first step in getting my riggers ticket? Where could I go (in the us obviously) to start this process and get it completed in one long large effort? What am I allowed to do with each level of Rigger Certification? Thanks :) Carpe Diem, even if it kills me
