  1. I know the first thing I think about with strait razor blades...
  2. Who thinks all the experienced people will go to mile-hi when and if he gets an otter?
  3. Im a guy...but have you seen this? If you don't feel like reading the whole thing...at least read the last line. Attitude by Charles Swindoll "The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude ... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our Attitudes."
  4. If Hank Williams Jr. singing Family Tradition doesn't cheer you up nothing will!!! Ok...it might make you crack a beer and twist one up, but your mood will improve in a hurry. :) Not really...Buffet is the man!!!!
  5. I am with Tom. I didn't start skydiving until I was finished with school and got a good job. Then skydiving killed my motivation for work. I have a friend with the same problem and we discussed it. Skydiving makes everything seem less important. Not sure how long you have been in the sport, but it won't be long until your only friends are skydivers too. Buy a truck and trailer and drive around to DZ 's on weekends and vacations. Do you really want to have to do tandems when you are 60. Not bad to do them, but have to have to do them is a different story. I love this sport and have put a lot of thought into your exact plan. Mine is this...make good money until I have a livable RV with no loan and all my ratings. Then you could easily live for a long time with 50k in the bank, skydiving part time for a living. Keep expenses low.!!!! This is not unrealistic. Depending on age, you could still retire at 30-35 and live a comfortable life.
  6. amen!!!! Especially 1st load of the day after a long night of micro brews, and greasy hamburgers.
  7. Thanks for the reply...I sure hope they have made changes. The advertise two CASA's and they only allow 55 people to attend. If I only get 10-12 jumps I will be very upset. I am going to send that guy an email now to see what up!! Thanks Ross
  8. Has anyone been to or heard about this boogie? Some friends and I are going this year and haven't talked to anyone who has been there. I would like to hear some input. Thanks
  9. Oh yeah...The main jump planes are two CASA's. But they only allow 55 people to attend this boogie. I am wondering if they keep them running all the time or lots of shut downs. Or fly half-full? You never know.
  10. Only requirements are 100 jumps and AAD.
  11. Me and couple friends signed up to go to this in Feb. and I was wondering if anyone has been there. For anyone interested in this boogie, here is what I know so far. I am so excited I want to tell everyone!!!! First of all the price...285.00 boogie fee. This includes a place to stay on the AF Base, food, and all the jumps you can do for 6 days. Plus you must pay airfare from US of course. I got an email from our contact there, and he said we will all be participating in a demo jump for the President of the Dominican Republic and their diplomats. He said we should bring a gift for the Pres. (I wonder if we get to meet him) Also, he said...8 out of the last 10 boogies have had a Huey to jump from, which is included in your boogie fee. He also mentioned there would be other specialty aircraft, but he wouldn't say what they were because they hadn't been confirmed. Has anyone been here or heard of this boogie??? Please let me know how it was. Blue Skies and Tight Doors!!!! (Thanks Brian)
