  1. Thanks for your 2 cents. I'll spend the extra $ and go for the better sight!
  2. I have tried the black-orange centered sight on a friends rig and was wondering if it is worth the extra $ for the Newton ring sight?

    Falcon Award

I finally got to do my first four way this weekend. It's weird that it took 60 jumps to actually do the first one! All my previous jumps (other than the AFF) have been two ways to eight ways but no four ways. The loads just always worked out that way. Anyway,I have been lurking the site more than posting but I feel that I know most of the enthusiasts like you were jumping at my home DZ. Having said all that I qualified for my Falcon Award this weekend on my first four way! I want to thank the three other skydivers who showed faith in my abilities and let me jump with them. Thanks to all the experienced skydivers out there for teaching and jumping with us newbies. Blue skies!
  4. Hi everyone, I exercised my three ring release system today for the first time on my newly aquired rig and noticed that the cable clears the loop on the right risers before the left side does. In fact there appears to be another couple of inches of cable to go on the left side when the right side releases. I thought that all the rigs releases were custom made and as such should release at the same time for a stable chop and reserve deployment. What do ya'll think? Should I have my rigger correct the problem before I jump it again(which could be a while) or ASAP? Thanks!
  5. Hey Matt, I sure hope it is your dealer (BTW I'm curious who it is) because I ordered my new Wings in January and have also been told it will be here any day now.
  6. Hi Guys, I just ordered a Safire from Icarus and was asking the same question. If you go to their website you will notice that they have a warning re:Vectran in red now. They are now recommending you go with the Spectra line set for the Safire as it can go out of trim w/o affecting performance as much as other ellipticals. Blue ones!
  7. I jump at a small DZ also and everyone looks out after each other. From the sky god to the fledgling skydiver we all learn how to give and receive pin checks. After all, their free! What could be more simple.
  8. Hey ADRNALN, don't know why you're afraid of us IRS agents. We'll be contacting you soon! Thanks for the post! HAHA! In all seriousness folks this could affect our whole sport. Can you imagine all the potential skydivers out there who may never take that first tandem/AFF jump if they know they won't be covered by their health insurance if they so much as sprain an ankle! I myself am scared to the bank trying to imagine what getting hurt skydiving and not being covered would to do my family and our finances! Contact your Representatives and Sentators on this one! Our future may well depend on it.
  9. Has anybody with this problem found ANYTHING that worked? PLFKING, the best thing to do is to not flare when you normally would. Give yourself a count of one-onethousand AFTER you think you want to flare. It takes some self control not to flare when you wantto but if you are constantly(stressing constantly here) hanging yourself up high when you stall try this. If you find after counting you are still a little high try going to a count of two. With a little practice your depth perception will kick in and you'll be nailing 'em!
