kevin922 0 #1 March 7, 2008 I'm expecting to be doing a media jump in the near future and was curious what the generally accepted answers for the following questions are : 1) Glide ratio (bad, average, and good) 2) Forward speed (range) 3) Vertical Descent (range) 4) Average distance covered from 14K feet 5) Distance covered in a track (no wingsuit) from 14K feet any other "ooo-aaa" statistics you can think of. unclecharlie95 3 #2 March 7, 2008 7:1 and 20 mph vertical Joking aside, best quote your own average performance, but you can round up a littleUsually the press are not impressed by low numbers, so emphasize your "high" forward speed. kevin922 0 #3 March 7, 2008 Well I haven't logged all my stuff recently with GPS, etc.. it's been a few years since I had my numbers and I was wanting to be able to say what the suits are capable of, not specifically what i've done.
mccordia 73 #4 March 7, 2008 Quote 1) Glide ratio (bad, average, and good) Anything between 2:1 and 3:1 Quote 2) Forward speed (range) 60mph to 120 mph Quote 3) Vertical Descent (range) Anything between 180 mph and 30 mph or so Level flight possible after high speed dives/flaring Climbing possible from tailgate aircraft/high speed exits Quote 4) Average distance covered from 14K feet Use a calculator based on #1 Quote 5) Distance covered in a track (no wingsuit) from 14K feet around 1:1 seems to be what the best trackers can do (sans tracking gear). Again..do your own math Quote any other "ooo-aaa" statistics you can think of. Americans usually fall faster?JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
