GlobalSat DG-100 is a GPS data logger that records track data from the received GPS signal. With a GPS logger and antenna built in a miniature construction, DG-100 features an all-in-one, cost-effective GPS logger solution. The DG-100 records time, date, speed, altitude and GPS location at preset intervals. Based on the SiRF star III chipset, DG-100 offers accurate position tracking capabilities.

It does not say if the thing has WAAS/EGNOS capability. It costs around £80 for a bluetooth GPS reciever(no recording) with SiRF III and WAAS/EGNOS. Until Galileo is operational that seems to be the best data logging option.

I was thinking a GPSMAP 60 or 76 CSX with an external antenna mounted on the helmet would be the most accurate and economical option. This seems like a much cheaper alternative.
