everymansaved 0 #1 March 11, 2008 Hey all, I'm looking to get a .3 lens, and have found a Cookie Liquid 3 on eBay. If the price stays right, I'd like to pick it up. The only problem is that it's a 30mm thread and my camera (PC120) is 37mm. The camera I'd eventually like to upgrade to has a 30mm thread, so if I can get away with using this lens with my camera with a step down ring, I'd like to do it, but I don't want to get any vignetting. Has anyone experimented with this combination? I'd like to know for sure before I buy it. I asked Cookie about it directly and all they did was give me a link to their website and tell me to buy a new one from them. Thanks!God made firefighters so paramedics would have heroes...and someone can put out the trailer fires.
PhreeZone 15 #2 March 11, 2008 You can not step down and not get any vignetting. if the threads on the lens are smaller you will always get vignetting, you can step up usually and not have an issue. You are putting a 30mm hole over a 37mm hole, the overlap will appear as vinigetting.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
