Heads up HC 30 Users.

Sony has done a recall on HC 30 cameras, that, when turned on the screen is black. No picture. I was happy to hear it when they sent me an electronic shipping label and all shipping and repairs are on the house. Here is the link if your experiencing the problems I encountered.

I just got my HC40 back from the local SONY repair shop and they didn't say anything.

In my opinion it's the pretty old ccd issue which affected several different brands, not only Sony cameras(but all that do use Sony CCDs ;-))

The HC40 uses a different CCD which is not affected, however the HC20 uses the same CCD as the HC30 and so there is the same statement on the Sony site for the HC20.
