ltdiver 3 #2 June 23, 2006 DVD cameras aren't good for freefall. Many reasons. First and most evident is the fact that the mechnics can't take either the altitude (thin air) or the buffeting that freefall includes. For a more detailed discussion or two (if you want), they can be found in the little 'search' area at the bottom right of the computer screen. Type in 'DVD camcorder' (or something like this) and you'll be delighted to see where other discussions have gone before. ;^) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
bentonu2 0 #3 June 25, 2006 I just started using the new JVC 3CCD GZ-MC500 HD camcorder, replaced the micro drive with a 4GB Flash card and it works a treat
 Shoot 0 #4 June 25, 2006 How many minutes can you record with that 4GB flash card?
 bentonu2 0 #5 June 25, 2006 The camera has 5 different settings with regard to the quality you require, with the 4GB flash card on the highest setting of Ultra fine I get a total of 56 min's of high quality footage, on the lowest setting of Economy I get 5 hours of good quality footage, so it dends on what you want to use the footage for, personally I use the highest setting for three jumps and then download the footage straight into my laptop then erase it from the camera, ready for the next 3 jumps. the total size of the camera is only 2 inches tall x 4 1/2 inches long x 3 inches wide and weights only about 400gms cheers brent
 yatzek 0 #6 July 4, 2006 JVC looks good, but has no remote control nor recording indicator visible for jumper.
