humanflite 0 #1 March 6, 2009 ok guys, Im starting out learning how to swoop (dont worry, Im getting training ) but I want to know how a swoop is measured? Ive seen tonnes of videos and the pilot heads for the first gate and carries on down the course, but at what height do they have to go through the gate at? and how is it measured? Ive seen some guys come in 'really' high (as in, it looks too high) above the gate, pull out a pretty decent swoop and it has been measured and counted. As you have already mentioned TRAINING is the fastest and safest way to learn. There are right and wrong ways to train how to meet the requirements of these rules for "swooping." dragon2 0 #4 March 6, 2009 clicky Read the comments There's a sensor between the gates at 1.5m, usually two sets with one lower to prevent people not setting off the sensor if you come in low and bunched up (seen JC do that ). If the sensor goes off you hit the gates. Usually there is backup video but the sensor systems now are quite reliable and good at picking up even the fastest downwind runs so usually if the sensor says you didn't hit the gate you really did not hit the gate ciel bleu, Saskia Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
