ParaShoot 0 #1 July 27, 2006 The results so far. Look at the different sheets for details.
raymod2 1 #2 July 27, 2006 You guys are using the percentage scoring system for zone accuracy?
raymod2 1 #3 July 27, 2006 ...the reason I mention it is because the 2006 IPC Competition Rules for Canopy Piloting 9.4.3.2(c) states: "In the Zone Accuracy event each result of a round equals the points for the round." Not that I'm arguing against the way you are scoring it. Your way ensures that all events (distance, speed, and zone accuracy) affect the total standings equally. Maybe the IPC rules need to be changed.
ParaShoot 0 #4 July 28, 2006 The best 18 are in the finals. Scoring has been reset to zero. First round done before the wind picked-up. Hopefully continue with the next round (straight accuracy) this afternoon.
ParaShoot 0 #5 July 28, 2006 You're right about the IPC rules. But with the EST events we chose to use the percentages for all disciplines because it makes more sense and is more fair. In case the maximum score in an accuracy round is for example just 50 due to circumstances the value of that round is way less than the others (speed and distance). It was the intention of the IPC to do this but apparently it has not been changed because the maximum score is 100 anyway and mostly it is the actual maximum score. ParaShoot 0 #6 July 29, 2006 The s-carve distance round this morning was really challenging. A bit down wind which made it very though to stay within the course. Jonathan and Jay flew all the way over the course into the sea. One more round to go. We started round 10 (carve accuracy) but had to stop after the first 3 landed due to the wind. Everybody has a rejump and hopefully we can start all over at 18:00.
