superstu 0 #1 December 14, 2002 What's the difference between the older infinity and the newer ones, and what year was the newer one introduced? Specifically the one i'm looking into is a 96'.Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
sdctlc 0 #2 December 14, 2002 Go directly to the source! http://www.skydivenet.com/vse/contact.htm I dont think that the web site has any history information but I am pretty sure that Kelly bought Infinity from Larry well after 1996. riggerrob 562 #3 December 15, 2002 Kelly was building Infinities when I visited Kapowsin in 1999. Kelly's Infinities have dozens of minor changes that make them head and shoulders better than the early Infinities. Kelly's Infinities compete head-on with Vector 3s. darkwing 4 #4 December 16, 2002 I'm a blissfully happy owner of a current-style Infinity. I'm certain that '96 is older style. I have seen a couple of older ones, but I can't remember enough detail to be useful to you. They are sufficiently changed to be considered a new, different rig these days, as are most rigs when compared between then and now. I'm sure if you email them at: [email protected] they will answer any questions you have. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
KellyF 16 #5 December 16, 2002 The major difference between the two styles is the amount of pin, riser, and bridle protection the newer one offers, and the cosmetics. The last "old style" Infinity was shipped in Dec. of '98. The easiest way to tell if it is a newer style or an older style is the serial number. Anything over 6000 is a newer style. Thanks for the compliments guys! VSE on Facebook
