Posting a Classified Ad

Recommended Posts

Two problems:

1) Every time you modify the ad, the headline title disappears, and you get an error message that you can't omit it. You have to re-type it every time. This should be kept as-is, and not erased every time.

2) There is no formatting allowed with line or paragraph breaks, or html code. Everything is run together into one giant blob paragraph, making it very hard to read. Don't do that. Preserve the formatting that I give you.

Use
and it will break it out into paragraphs if you need that.

Okay, that helps. Thank you very much.

You need one "
" to create a line break, and two "

" to create a paragraph break.

I tried these previously, but I was using the bracket delimiters used elsewhere for html code in forum messages, such as "[br]". For some reason, the delimiters in Classifieds are different from the delimiters elsewhere, i.e. "<>" versus "[]". This is confusing - the delimiters used to bracket html code should be consistent throughout the web site.

I suggest a small comment be added to the "post ad" screen to let people know this line-break and paragraph-break technique, so that they can format their ads properly.
