Search function modification?

In light of the recent suggestion thread about searches and the utility thereof...

Is it possible to have the option for the search results to show either as threads or posts? A short quote of the post that contains the search string would help a lot in separating the wheat from the chaff, so to speak.

But I agree, a selection box with three options: "Search only thread titles", "Search only posts' bodies", and "Search both titles AND bodies" would be nice.

Good info, thanks - that could come in handy sometime!

I was speaking in regard to the DISPLAY of the search results - if the pertinent part of the individual post is displayed, the searcher can find the exact post they're looking for. I apologize for not being clearer in my initial post

As for my post, what I am miising is the checkbox to exclude "-Re", NOT the 3 options I indicated above (these already exist).

I would love to have a search function that allows me to search specifically for threads with pictures posted by a specific dz.commer.

That way, I don't have to post a pic I already posted before but don't remember posting it.
