An Evening with Colonel Joe Kittinger
Col. Joe Kittinger recently received the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum's highest honor for his 1960 parachute jump from space - 102,800 feet - a record that still stands. The moment is captured in a photograph featured in the book In Focus: National Geographic Greatest Portraits and on display at the History Center. Spend an evening with this daring pioneer and local hero as he discusses his life's exploits. Hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine will be served. $10 for Members, $25 for non-members. Space is limited. Call (407) 836-7010 to R.S.V.P.

It is at the Orange County Regional History Center, Orlando, FL

because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Late coming into this thread.

Kittinger is one of my heroes as much for his Vietnam service as anything else.
I don't care how many skydives you've got,
until you stepped into complete darkness at
800' wearing 95 lbs of equipment and 42 lbs
of parachute, son you are still a leg!
